Probably but it shouldn't come down to one factor. Everyone is responsible but it's always been the Adelaide way that once you get to a certain position you are happy to down tools and not push upwards anymore.

Jones an ok junior mid. But obviously, akin to the fat kid in u/12s who dominates and then fails once everyone else hits puberty I u/13s and onwards.

Hamish hasn't drafted any genuine talent in the first round since.


And hasn't drafted a genuine elite mid since Dangerfield.

As much as Nicks is to blame, this is largely a product of s**t recruiting. drafting 0 elite mids, 5+ first round busts, drafting poorly skilled players. Our recruiters are massive frauds. Our forward line isnt functional but nor is our delivery. Our outside players are the worst in the league. Jeremy f***ing sharp looked miles better than our outside players and he was delisted.

Seeing Young and Serong top the stat sheets while our first round 'mids' are barely reaching the teen disposal range hurts.
Ned 13 disposals and a goal, Rachele 13 and 0.1, Jones 12 disposals, Peds subbed. Once again we're pinning our hopes to a later round draftee and as much as I'd love another one of him, Soligo is just one solitary player.

Even Rachelle who looked like a jet when we drafted him looks completely bereft of confidence. Jones and McHenry are total busts
