All those shots we missed, especially in the 1st quarter weren't uber difficult. We just had players who didn't read the obvious signs of the ball drifting and kept kicking to the same spot with the same result.
Our goal kicking this year has cost us at least 3 games ......MELB didn't appear to be under pressure when kicking for goal, they seemed confident ..... whereas we seemed to kick for goals under greater perceived pressure

The bloke who really was the difference yesterday was Pickett

Our goal kicking has been atrocious most the year. However Melbourne know the MCG and the swirling wind, something our players found hard to adjust to. Our club should really be pushing for more games there.

We missed Max. He would’ve been on Pickett. Although on Max’s recent form perhaps wouldn’t have mattered

Milera had some plays that didn't come off for sure, but in defence he was the only trying to make stuff happen for half the game.

I don't mind this and we need more of it from defence. Otherwise we have this stagnant chipping around.

I'd rather all our guys try and play on quick and take the game on right from the start of the game.

That's the role of a half back.

Thought Nank did a great job of this
He's an instigator of risky but exciting plays. We absolutely need his creativity and ample skills.

The Milera hate is ridiculous. Same as the Hinge hate. It's an utterly box-of-hammers level of a dumb take on the game.

Is it any different to opposition teams coming to play at Adelaide Oval, on the different dimension ground ?

We've managed to be horrible with our goal kicking on a variety of grounds this year .....it's cost at least 3 wins

Do you think Max could have handled Pickett's pace ? .....he was given a roaming license yesterday & carved us up

Buddy getting a free for putting Rutten in a headlock is up there.
Someone needs to put together a montage of all the shocking umpiring decisions that have gone against the Crows over the years.. only problem would be trying to resize so you can use/share it.. as it would go for hours..

start with the entire 2012 prelim against the Hawks..

Fxxkn cheating vicco c..ts..

We missed Laird, Max, Soligo, Rachele. Add to that Murray getting injured. We would have won if not for those outs. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise as we need a decent mid with hopefully a top 5 pick.

I am one of the biggest whingers about Hinge. I don’t hate him. In fact what he does is fantastic and has been a good addition. In particular his form of late has been outstanding.

But - the one glaring issue which he should have rectified by now or be working on rectifying is to stop trying to kick the ball 80m across his body. That is the action that results in the couple of costly turnovers we see from him every game.

It does my head in.

Get that one massive flaw out of his game and wow.

We must be looking at different players. All I see is an average player that doesn't have a lot of instinct on the field. Our return for what we have up in the draft and the contract he is on has been pretty poor tbh. How many best on grounds or even top 3 performances have we had out of him? How many top 5 and let alone top 10 best and fairest performances have we had out of him? There's only a handful of players on our list I wouldn't trade out for an elite mid and he most definitely not in that group. He's an easy trade out for the right price.

Gawn when in top form pants all the AFL rucks and the last 2 week's without Grundy eating up his on ball time he's back to the Maxxy of old.
ROB or for that matter Strachan are never going to be able to beat Maxxy unless he has a real bad day...as with most oppo rucks the best outcome is to nullify him to some degree.

A young athletic development ruck is a list need almost as important as bringing in an A Grade mid looking several years into the future.
Thilthorpe......
