Without being unkind, I think if you looked up the ‘Peter Principle’ in Wikipedia you’d see pictures of Littleproud and Ley - a bank teller and junior public servant bludging in T&D.

The propaganda didn't work and now they're having a crack at each other. Don't the LNP (and a handful of billionaires) basically fund advance anyway?

These turds from Advance literally have no vision for the nation other than “smashing da left!!”

(I happen to think the right needs to be “smashed”, but the difference is that I can make a coherent, fact-based argument on why progressive politics most benefit the greatest number of Australians. These guys descend straight into lazy, unsupportable stereotypes.)

These cashed up bogans have zero political thought underpinning their organisation other than trying to shore up power for those who have least earned it. Tell them to go root themselves.

Anyone who thinks the coalition is dead is delusional. They’ll be back together within this four year time frame.

As long as Nuclear is a National party policy the Coalition is dead, regardless if they kiss and make up.
Sometimes you cant measure how many seats you lose in an election due to one policy

But we can safely say the coalitions nuclear policy cost them about 16 today

I think it is actually 26 with 8 Queenslanders sitting in the Liberal Party room.

Still getting close to WA irrelevance though.
I think the next election is here early next year and unless the SA Libs can come up with something remarkable they could well end up like WA.

How does this work? The Libs only hold 18 seats in their own right how can they be seen as the alternative government? They only had 20% primary vote only 8% more than the Greens.

How does the Qld LNP work into this now? How do they determine National 2PP?

Even though I'm hard as a rock, it's a good move by the coalition in the long run.

They need to be away from each other until a) they rediscover how to position themselves to the modern Australia b) the electorate forgets or ready to beat Labor with baseball bats.

I do have some sympathy for Ley. Losing your mother then have to deal with historic split, life can be tough.

More independents will emerge in those regional seats given that Nationals can't realistically form a govt in the next 6 years.

But politics like life is a cycle. The coalition will have its day someday.

Angus and Ley definitely don't have the juice to rein in Canavan and Price.

It'd be a disaster if that's who makes up the core of the leadership team.

Their best bet is to be low-key, think long term and be disciplined. That way if Albo et al stumble or fail to deliver then the Libs can market themselves as the "sensible" alternative. It may not be enough to win in 2028, but it's how you rebuild the party and take back significant ground.
First part was correct.

Seems like they chose to blow things up instead of the reasonable and politically sensible alternative.

I'd say they were playing funny buggets, by running a crank conservative party and a centre right neoliberal party, that will join hands when convenient to try and take power, but that assumes Ley can herd cats till the next election at minimum. Or that there is method to the madness.

The amount of guns you can have. Different guns do different jobs.

I have no issue with mental health checks or removing guns from dv offenders - that was overdue.
Gun theft is a huge issue. So whilst I agree in principle, limiting the amount of guns an individual can lawfully own limits illicit supply.

Without being too specific, I have close family who served, who hunt, who lived and worked ruraly.

At some point they've all chosen to downsize completely voluntarily and the current limits wouldn't impinge on either lifestyle/sporting interests, or their ability to do their jobs. You could easily get by as a farmer and sports hunter with a small and large(r) calibre rifle, plus two shotguns. A 12 guage for larger game, and you have a couple of options for water fowl. The cartridges you use are as important as the gun.

When I was a youngin I did a little shooting as to teach me how to handle a firearm and just manage pests on a property.

Ya don't cycle through a whole armory mate and most blokes "out bush" stick to their favourites, unless they are really in to the collecting/hobbyist side of things. Not that common and pretty ****in expensive.
