In Tiwi and some other indigenous cultures cousins are raised as biological brothers. Sometimes they are raised by Uncles who are seen as fathers as much as their biological dad as well.

Met a bloke years back who was a committee member at Melbourne when Jacko was there. They were putting on some function in the north of the state and this bloke drew the short straw, to drive Jacko to and from the venue. Although he was a Melbourne person, he didn't know Jackson apart from what he'd seen on the field and around the other players so he said he was dreading the journey.

Turned out that Jacko was apparently capable of holding a sensible conversation and this bloke, David was impressed.

Until they stopped at a petrol station and there were a few members of the general public around. Then, Jacko became an inder-bloody-vidual!!!

Wonder how many of those places old Limpingbury has played at twice though... didn't think collingwood travelled .... might be why he's taken 408 games to get there. Woulda thubk we have a few in the top 10 .... like any of our midfield from about 1990 onwards :-D

Just saw a video of the Rioli goal and the "action" that took place after he kicked.

I am stunned by the decision by the umpire to award a free to Rioli. The contact was very minor but worse was the reactions from poorta players, including what appeared to be a punch thrown by Horne Francis.

Willy Rioli is a complete muppet. So his dad wasn't good enough to play seniors at the Hawks and they got rid of him, then though they are only cousins {Cyril} and nothing whatsoever to do with him, he tries to sink the Hawks with this rubbish. I can see what's going on here and it stinks, try and be the hero by sticking up for Cyril, Cyril was a champion footballer and he doesn't need you {Willy} putting his two bobs worth in, and that case has played out, when its really about how his dad left the Hawks

Seeing that free kick when he virtually threw himself to the ground after he'd shown the ball to Jiath just shows what sort of person he really is, for what its worth if he had of done that in the 80s or 90s he dead set wouldn't have walked off the ground! The Jason Dunstall thing is actually quite funny and there's nothing to it, maybe if Willy trained like a professional and took his football more seriously he could have been better, on Willy's part, what pain/suffering is he going through? He's an absolute w***er and this needs to be called out for what it is, complete and utter rubbish! No wonder Port were in damage control when Willy threw his little tantrum.

The dive is one thing and should never have been paid but the rest of what you are saying is wrong.

In Tiwi culture siblings are determined by grandparents not parents so it is appropriate that Willie Rioli Jr considers Cyril his brother. He has certain obligations because of that and posting his comment probably fits within those obligations.

When Willie's dad was at Hawthorn his u19 captain, Tony Wilson, was appalled by the racist treatment he got and even claims that the reason he was never selected in the seniors was because Hawthorn didn't pick black players back then. Wilson has written about this extensively.

Dunno why you are defending Hawthorn, they were happy for us and the Lions to suffer as a result of the claims against them in the racism report and they away with it while it set us back two years.

Rioli is not the brightest lightbulb. He has proven that many times over.

You can see why his family might be irritated by the Dunstall story though. No doubt no malice was intended but it was on the insensitive side.

The racism stuff is still unproven and going off the court documents is highly contested. It makes sense that Port and the AFL would not be happy for that type of comment (assuming the "brother" reference is to Cyril and his treatment at Hawthorn) being published when the matter has been settled.
