I saw somewhere that he said “we’ve punished him enough” meaning the club, separate to the court process, and the reporting by the usually reliable (ha) Tim Morris didn’t do him any favours.

I don’t know why it’s left in the club’s hands though - the AFL is usually keen to intervene when something unsavoury offfield becomes officially known.
