Invite him into the meeting room with the number 1360 written on the white board in big letters, leave him their for 30 minutes by himself, before Clarko enters for a chat.

Lol about the absurdity of it all but that’s essentially what happened with plugger, he was washed up, always injured when he joined Sydney. He was still stkilda leading goal scorer but that didn’t mean much at the time.
Lockett was 28 when he moved to Sydney.

Back then that was pretty much getting to the end of you career, especially someone like Lockett who started to have soft tissue injuries, calf one week, pulled back out for the next few. If he didn’t move up to Sydney I doubt he would’ve played on till into his 30s.

Btw the above stuff about bud is clearly joking.

Damo just said on AAA this morning then we shouldn't have the number 1 pick for 3 years in a row.

Get ****ed you 4 eyed twat. It's been the rule forever that if you finish last you get the first pick.
North should be stripped of all its draft picks for the next 10 years because they've been down the bottom for an extended period, makes sense Damo! Can't be giving North a competitive advantage like that.

For real?

That sounds unusual, even for that tw@t. How could anybody have the temerity to say in public, with their reputation as a journalist at risk, that the last finishing team does not deserve pick #1 as the rules presently (and correctly) dictate they should?

If Barret said that then he is a fool.

Pretty sure port have more number picks running around then us.

Also, there is a ready an AFL equalisation method that is supposed to stop that from happening. The salary cap.

I'll put my hand up and say I'm having a hissy fit over the fact that West Coast have jumped us. Nothing's brought me more shame this year than the two moments over the last four weeks in which West Coast have showed they were better and had more grit in them than us. But you cannot call anyone melting down impatient. It's been 79 games of s**t.

There was that rumour that went around that Powell and Phillips wanted to hold some sort of specialised handball drill and were laughed out of the place by their teammates. There's the fact that everyone's fitness bar Jy, Larkey, Scott, Sheezel and a couple of others is on the floor. There's the opportunities to win a game that each and every player has failed to take hold of. The standards are so clearly unbecoming for a professional outfit and the players have just stood by and watched it happen.

I don't give a s**t about the unfairness of the draft. Instead of Ashcroft and Daicos we have Sheezel and Wardlaw. Negligible difference. What isn't negligible is the fact that seemingly no players since 2020 except for Jy and Larkey have actively taken it upon themselves to improve the place.

It's frustration over a whole bunch of things that is boiling over for people like Heath and Barrett, and you absolutely cannot blame them. This has been a perfect storm of shitness, and to see this playing group display the same flaws it's had since 2020 is incredible to me. Do none of them have their eyes open? It's obvious to everyone watching, why can't they see it?

It's obviously time for me to take a time out, but you cannot blame any frustrated fan. This place is filled to the brim with negativity because the situation is filled to the brim with s**t. And has been for four years. Simple as

Mate, lettuce be cereal.

No-one’s really taken it upon themselves to improve the joint since 2002.

We’ve been a steaming pile of horse shirt, treading water for the past 20 years.

The AFL public lap up over priced beer and junk food at matches.

They’ll have a bitch and moan and then move on.

The assistance package will be announced and it won’t be picks 1 and 2.

Pick 1 will be our natural draft pick so that’s not part of any assistance package.

I can see the assistance package being pre listing Sanders, a mid first round draft pick and ability to pre list two state league players.

That’s a pretty modest package on the back of three consecutive wooden spoons and winning 11 of their last 84 games.

The AFL announcement preceding the grand final would be something along the lines of:

The AFL Commission has decided that on the back of three consecutive wooden spoons and winning 11 of their last 84 games North Melbourne will be eligible for the following assistance package.

1. The ability to prelist their Indigenous Tasmanian NGA player Riley Sanders.

2. Pick 11 in the 2023 AFL national draft.

3. The ability to prelist two players from state football competitions.

There’s no mention of picks 1 and 2 and puts things into perspective given our recent record.

When the free agency period happens after the grand final it will be a separate announcement stating that North receives band 1 compensation for Ben McKay.

The AFL media unit will ensure that quite a number of AFL journalists will spin the assistance package that way and seperate the FA compensation and our natural pick from the assistance package.

We will beat Gold Coast this weekend anyway.

We’re due.
I admire your optimism but I wouldn't be putting the house on it. We'll try, same as last weekend, but we have struggled even with a full squad.

agree about some things not going our own way but the mismanagement is diabolical.

-openly killing ben browns trade value for the whole year before we shopid him round was plain silly,
-2nd rounder for ccj also stupid.
-keeping the same bloke in head of development after 10 years and 2 review when there is ample evedence we couldnt develop a bucket of water on a 40 degree day from a block of ice.
-head of recruitment ^^ see above same bloke rerponsible for WCs basket case list, no coincidences here,

a lot of the issues stem from these points,

i can sort of understand when the were coachless and had unstable president posts the decision to not destabolise the status quo at the time, but now we have a perceived decent leadership at those levels these positions need to be addressed.

i have faith in Jan, Sonja, clarko and viney,

not so much in the rest of the incumbents.
You forgot to mention Laura Kane being head of our football dept with no experience.

Funny how AFL footy department mess coincides with her appointment.
