I guess I don't use many chat rooms or message sites cause I've never seen any one use that before, but then again, I haven't used 'brb' since I was probably 14 or so.

All I remember from ICQ/MSN speak is that people would say 'PAW' (parents are watching) if they didn't want you to be sweary or porny.

So obviously as soon as someone said it you'd immediately send them something inappropriate.
