Is it time he debuted?

We need the tall backmen now Clement, Presti and O'Brien are out.

He is 194cm and 87kg, he is a big bloke and could really help us out in the backline.

Why did MM debut Stanley instead of him?
Not taking anything away from Stanley, I was very impressed with his first match.

Has Brown been doing much in the VFL?

Is it also time for Cox to come back into the side?

Our backline isnt that weak without those who are injured, it is just young and inexperienced.

Assuming Wakes will take whoever of Hall/O'Loughlin plays out of the square and Cox has to come in to cover the running CHF forward option of the two. The question is who takes O'Keefe? Not sure that is a good match up for Brown - perhaps Maxi or Lones (although he has done an admirable job of tagging Goodes recently) or even Goldsack.

I'm really hopeful about Brown for the future - but a debut on Hall could be a nightmare beginning. Give him some time.

How about Lonie? Haven't seen or heard much from him, surely he must be next in line to come into the backline with so many injuries.

Hall is in very average form, throw Wakes on him.

true, his form is down. But if he plays his normal game of roaming out around the 50m arc and plenty of doubling back - then my concern is that Wakes won't be able to go with him. Who's our running option? Cox, Lonie or the aforementioned Brown debut...

judging from micks post match press conference, not likely. but anything is possible, football clubs arent the most honest of instituitions!
From what mick was saying we would bring in the inform players and rejig our side so whether that means putting cloke or bryan back who knows. thats just my interpretation of what he was saying...

Maxwell for Micky O.

Stanners or Goldy for Davis

no idea for O'Keefe, he is really a wingman anyway.

Toovey can take o'keefe, Okeefe is basically a midfielder Toovey is a tagger also good in air and good in contests perfect player for him.

I am sure Toovey can play on O'Keefe. A hard job to ask for him but I know he'll get the job done. I will be happy with Toovey if he gets only like 5 possesions and keeps his opponent with 0-1 goals.

Toovey has to be dropped...you can't keep in players who are consistently dropping off. I know where struggling down back, but palease...we aren't going to keep him as a defensive tagger, surely. Brodie Holland and Paul Licuria can be our defensive players now.

Ryan Lonie, James Clement and Paul Licuria all will return against Sydney...and Shannon Cox will come in too to add that depth that we need in the 22, as we clearly didn't have it vs the Dees.

The top three players are certainties...definately in our best 22 at the start of the year, and the fact is, with best 22 players out of the side, they are clearly best 25 players inturn now..best 22. Lonie i am pretty sure had a run in the seconds this week...Lica was best on ground for Willi last week. Clement has had more than a month on the sidelines.

So,
IN: J Clement, R Lonie/R Shaw, P Licuria, S Cox
OUT: H O'Brien (shoulder), D Stanley, A Toovey, C Bryan

Nathan Brown is probably physically ready, but he shouldn't come in because he is a backmen. Cox has been a success as a tall type...Wakelin was runner up in Copeland Trophy last time he wasn't used as a back up.

Harry O'Brien's immediate replacement is James Clement...very similar players roles, no doubt. O'Brien's a loss, ofcourse, but Jimmy is surely back in the side in a fortnight. Lonie for Stanley, enough said...he needs to come back soon. We miss the dash, and surely a round 2 late withdrawal with low case OP and back in full training won't see him miss...experience is always vital, no matter how much Mick says youth is the go.

Licuria is in for Toovey, another simple change up as they play similar roles...Lica alot more attacking however, and Toovs more defensive, but Lonie in the side covers that. Chris Bryan is not needed in the side. He has been average, and problems with his attitude and work rate really fustrated me on Monday as you could see it. He doesn't need to help out Josh...Pebbles and Travis Cloke are more than capable as back ups. Cox can also play pinch hitter as his fill in, while he gives us depth if we hurt again.

Rhyce Shaw also should be an automatic inclusion...it just depends for who...or if he is right. Maybe Ryan Lonie won't be right as it is OP, we'll see. Goldsack can't be dropped...I thought he was very good on the weekend, and he keeps that depth for the backline.

Clement will not be back any time soon, Toovey is our best option for o'keefe its robbing peter to pay paul if we play Licca (if he comes in), or Holland on O'Keefe.

Why would you drop Bryan and not bring in another ruck, both Jolly and everitt are fanatstic rucks Bryan is needed or Fraser will get completely worked over.

Rhyce see Clement apparntly worse than first thought.

O'Keefe is going to be the issue i think. Quick and cand find the goals. Someone with speed needs to stick on Davis.

Isnt Lonie still injured?

1. Three successive games in the best.
2. No.
3. Yes, absolutely. Had it not been for his indiscretion after the Adelaide game, he would still be in there.

so what if Hall is down on form, wakelin is just the opponent that will allow Hall to get back into form, he definetly looks like injuries have caught up to him, poor bloke was very good but past it now.

also i have one question, why is it that all supporters are over supportive of big men, they're much bigger and stronger than the mids, hence shouldn't take as long to develop so why do supporters demand that they be given more time to prove their worth then mids?

Nah, I'd drop Goldsack. He's been too unaccountable. Lonie can come into the side, we need his experience, and he can play on one of their match winners, such as Ryan O'Keefe, and keep them isolated from the action.

Rhyce Shaw pulled a hammy and will miss 3 weeks (excluding the split round).

Nathan Brown is not ready. Needs to gain some experience, at Williamstown, before we throw him to the wolves. Ala Zac Dawson.

IN: J Clement, P Licuria, R Lonie
OUT: H O'Brien (shoulder), A Toovey, T Goldsack (omitted)

This is exactly the time you don't want Nathan Brown coming in .
Wait until Presti , Jimmy and Harry are back and ease the kid in after he has some good weeks in the VFL and can be helped out by some quality and experience .

Yeh but when Jimmy, Presti and Harry are back we probly wont need him.

Is there any news on Jimmy playing next w/e?
