lol at digging up the ghost of Peter Daicos.. I barely had pubes when most of those guys were up and running, the game is tactically and aerobically and worlds apart from even 5 years ago. Ballantyne and Puopolo were shown to be dinosaurs in the modern game.
Anyhow if you think there is still room in 2020 for slow and short specialist forwards then all the power to you.
Back to the topic at hand, excited for Rocky to be playing finals; the pig will be licking his lips at the conditions to come. Who would have thought a relatively one-paced midfield of Rocky, Wines and Boak would turn out to be a genuine strength.
Robbie is not even a good example, now he's hindered / losing his mobility he's clearly far less effective as a forward than he might be as a midfielder.
At a wet GABBA it will.I'm still in that camp, Boak can spread from a stoppage but not Wines or Rockliff. If they don't have a handball option it results in the hack kick forward. I just don't think that'll work against the better teams but happy to be proven wrong.

Rocky is the current AFL leader for most games without a final. He and Trent McKenzie both get themselves off of this list in a couple of weeks' time. As do Ryan Lester, Seb Ross, Josh Bruce and Jack Billings.
I don't think even you know what your point is, and I've seen enough of you stinking up other threads defending nonsensical logic to the death to know you've probably got more time on your hands to beat this dead horse than I have. EnjoyLol at the exceptionally slow growth of your pubes Ballantyne played in a Grand Final just 7 years ago and Puopolo was a triple premiership winner in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Regarding Daicos I did say, ' Depending on what you call 'modern', 'small' and 'slower' all these players came to mind as 'exceptions' ' so don't dare then suggest I am an a-hole for digging up the the ghost of one of the best small forwards of the last 30 years.
Laughing even harder at your original post.
Yes, as the second highest goal kicker in the top team at the age of 32, Robbie really sucks as an effective forward. That's not including his goal assists, possessions up forward, ability to win the game of his own boot etc. Papley's brilliant season has more to do with body positioning and pressure acts than his pace and is it Toby Greene's pace or his hunger for the contest and one on one's that make him one of the best small forwards?
You have really nailed this one. And Lets not forget you were the one that brought up the topic of slow, small forwards.

Couldn't agree with this more. I love rocky. Hate port Adelaide. Sorry about that. But to see this guy go from a suspect rookie pick to captain of my club I just fell in love with his attitude. Always wished him the best. Tried seeking him out at the gabba when he has played here pre covid. I really hope he gets a flag. (As long as it doesn't cost my team ours). It really is cool that he finally gets to play finals.

I think that came with people still not being used to the nature of free agency and the contract sizes.I've never understood the regular bouts of rocky hate on this board. He's had flat patches with us, but more good games than bad. Also, clearly this is an unpopular opinion, but I think he's a very good (and super clever) ball user who knows his limitations and works within them. Looking good for that 4th year of his contract too.
Yeah, there's a salary premium that comes with being on the open market and also costing no draft and trade capital. Bit like moving on a 'Bosman'.I think that came with people still not being used to the nature of free agency and the contract sizes.
Higher expectations.
Rockliff is a very good extractor and just what we need to get first use of the ball.
