Just watching the highlights between Port and Collingwood in the 2002 qualifying final, I witnessed a crazy good moment that I hadn't seen in a long time. When the game was truly in the balance, Ben Johnson's heroics saved us from a huge goal to the home team.

What are some of your favourite finals moments that don't get the respect it deserves?

2006 GF: Late in the last quarter, west Coast leading by 1. Daniel Kerr kicks the ball into the centre of the ground, missing his intended target. Ball bounces loose right in the centre of the MCG, swans players converge.

Enter Rowan Jones. Beats off Leo Barry and gets the ball clear. You can see it around the 2:07 mark in this video.

An insignificant moment, perhaps, and the swans did win the ball back a few moments later. But those few seconds in possession saved us the match.

The 11 Grand Final, Hawkins lining up for a set shot that he was doubting himself on, suddenly Steve Johnson appears in his ear, Hawkins palms it off to Johnson and he snaps the goal before the crowd or the Pies defence know what hit them. Awesome moment.

Cyril Rioli's chase down and HTB on Hutchings in the 2015 grand final, 2nd quarter. Hodge's goal from the boundary (minutes before) was more memorable and more of a defining moment that day. But I was there and believe me, once Rioli successfully tackled Hutchings and Hawthorn kicked a goal directly from it, everyone knew there was absolutely no way West Coast could win the flag.

This goal in the last quarter of the 2011 grand final.

Strange how this goal continually gets overlooked when discussing great Finals goals.
The distance covered and efforts put in then to curl it in on the opposite foot, exquisite stuff.

Early in the 2007 GF Port were up and about and actually had the better of Geelong.
There is a contest in the centre square, Kelly creates a spoil then dives at the ball and gets a backhand on it to Chapman who kicks to Mooney to set up SJ for an easy goal and we were away.

I reckon Sydney would have run the ball forward and had a shot on goal had Rojo not done his thing. Was just about to post this haha.

This goal from Leigh Brown. After that lucky bounce, i knew we were not going to drop this game

Likewise, when that goal went through I knew it wasn't going to be our night. I think my exact words at the time were "Oh, **** off!"

Being a Dees fan there's not a lot of recent content, but in the last final we won (EF St Kilda 2006), there is one moment that sticks out.

Melbourne were up against it, with Gehrig looking like he was gonna tear us apart. Down 42-22 near the end of the second quarter (timekeeper stuffed up and the quarters were counting up) Gehrig marks on the lead and tries to take Carroll on but gets done HTB. Momentum changes and Gehrig injures himself in the process, forced to play on one leg the rest of the game and unable to impact. Dees go on to win by a few goals.

I think there was a Didak shank from a shot that went to a Collingwood player about 10 meters out, before or just after that. Those 2 incidents compounded my dread.

This mark is generally overlooked.
