VIC Park.

Drove past the old ground today and wanted to know the thoughts of Collingwood fans regarding it!

No doubt, the Lexus centre is amazing, but does it bother you that you don't really have any ties left to VIC park which was pretty mcuh your home for most of your existance?

I only ask because Carlton, having just saying goodbye to Optus (which IMHO we needed too, sad but true) will no doubt be looking at creating a new training centre but i hope to god we don't leave Princess Park.

I don't know but, just driving past VIC park today sent shivers down my spine. It's all about history you know? and it has been such an important part of, not only your history, but football in general and it's just sitting there?

Just wanted to know your thoughts?

Yes, i do find it funny that Collingwood won't change their jumpers due to 'tradition' but we just left Victoria Park out to dry

I suppose at some stage everyone has to move on, and the Lexus Centre is a good way to do that

I personally hate the fact we left. It felt like a 2nd home. Its really sad, and hurts in a way.

You would think Collingwood would of tried it's hardest to build a world class training facilities at Vic Park but it was probably not possible, and the move had to be made.

I felt really sad when we played our last game at Vic Park against Brisbane, and I still do now just driving past it on many ocassions. But life goes on, and The Lexus Centre is fantastic!

The ground's been well preserved. You could still easily play AFL games there with a little bit of work on the ground. I love it how the ground still has the old turnstyles.

For a NSW person who followed the Pies from a far, I hate the Pies leaving Vic PArk.

I used to make a yearly holiday trip of 2 weeks to Melb starting in 1970 ever y year for 20 uears in June / July to watch 2 home games at Vic PArk.

I honestly cried as a grown man when Pies played last game against Bris.
All the memories I have as I can't go past every day make me ********e doff with all things about money.

Tuddy, Len Tommo, Twiggy. Mckenna, Gavin Brown, Jerka, the Shaws--my life was built every weekend in syd watching the games when pies at home or the winners.

When I go to melb now at MCG games, no feeling of belonging anymore.
