Who is the article about?

Smith. But it’s a Jon Ralph article, so he’s just rehashing news from weeks/months ago and presenting it as “news”. Basically about Smith starting his rehab away from the club, how Cats, Pies and Hawks are all interested, and that he’s more likely to leave than stay.

You’ve already read this article on Bigfooty about 10 times over

Yeah this is almost certainly old news.

Baz has been back at the club (including today) and around his teammates for a few weeks now.

Bailey Smith looks super sad and really checked out as he does his rehab in his Hawthorn shorts away from the club at some super secret location....

I reckon Baz is gone. I’ve said it numerous times.

The club know it, they are trying to keep it under wraps to avoid the media continuing the witch hunt blaming Bevo and ending up in the Dunkley circus again. You can tell from the strange press conferences that it’s all managed. Bevo wants to say we have to do something eg: get games into Sanders and Gallagher because Baz is ******* off to Collingwood, but he can’t. Then that big ******* dope Draper comes out and runs his mouth on a podcast - typical dumb ruckman type s**t. That’s why Collingwood told their players not to talk about it, Essendon told the Dogs and the dogs are pissed off.

I would say we’ve already come to an agreement with Collingwood as mostly we have a pretty good relationship with them and the deal has been done behind closed doors.

In classic Essendon arrogance, Draper shoots his mouth to be funny, not knowing the whole story and brings heat on everyone

This is massive. Draper wouldn't be saying something like this if he didn't have Intel on what's going on.

Not so sure about that, looks a bit more like Sam being a bit of a s**t stirrer and the media being grubs taking a grab out of context...

"The comments came late last month on Clubby Sports podcast ‘200+’ as the players were role playing as journalists."

Wouldn’t of been a issue if Draper kept his mouth shut

That’s great news - we supposedly had the easiest draw last year and we ****ed that up

Hard draw = underdogs…that’s our wheelhouse
Since when? When was the last time we beat a genuine top 4 team? We play better with our backs against the wall because we usually beat up on another mediocre side before losing games we shouldn't.

As it stands, we currently play all of the top 4 twice. It's an absolutely terrible draw.

He starts it off by saying it's "his view" and then just parrots back the names thrown up that have been circulating in the media. Like literally he says "yeah" to Bailey Dale wanting to leave because he was vaguely a name thrown around because for one week he was demoted to sub in a loss, but now with two excellent including a BOG game he's basically not likely to leave.

It's the furthest thing from massive, it's Draper having zero intel whatsoever and also being a disrespectful idiot, which is why both Essendon and Bulldogs are so incredulous at Draper.

Lucky to get a late first round.

Will be an early second at best imo
It cannot be simultaneously true that Smith will command a top 50-75 paid player in the league contract (which he will) and not be at least a top 10 pick or equivalent value.

The contract amounts as a proportion of the salary cap are greater than Dunkley (though Dunkley's trade value was added to given his form in the last few games for the Dogs), and Dunkley went for 21, a future first netting out to around pick 13, and a future 2nd, combined which add up to more than a top 10 pick.

The future first ended up being pick 21.

I was joking - we used to be good underdogs, now were not good anything

Bevo is my favorite Bulldogs coach of all time. I still hope like hell he turns things around. However I didn't believe for second that Draper would say something like this as a joke without an element of truth to it.

When Richmond are saying they’ll get a first round pick for Liam Baker….

Yes it absolutely can. People need to seperate contract size and draft capital as seperate assets. They are not the same.
