What a last day of trading that was and a lot of lopsided deals at the death. With the success of clubs in previous years improving their lists through trading, it appears there was a lot of pressure on some list managers to get 'something' done.

As the opposite of the other thread, who do you think paid overs or lost the trade period and why?

Has to be Collingwood.

Regardless of how good next year’s draft is, spending a second round pick (likely to be around 22-25) on a rookie-listed player is absolutely bizarre.

North I'd say. For a rebuilding side after failing to land Dusty and Kelly, they only have 1 pick in the top 20 without adding anything next year either.
I understand where you're coming from but they have few players on their list with high trade value other than Ziebell, possibly Goldstein and Higgins.

Right at this moment, they're in a difficult position. They didn't have their age spread at all right and now they're suffering. Brad Scott has remained as any new coach would be on a hiding to nothing.

I think Brisbane spending big on a another club's second best goalsneak and despite not hitting his straps yet, losing a former pick no. 2 for a 2nd round and a 3rd round makes them the winner on this list.

Hawthorn Hawks
In: Jarman Impey, pick 43, pick 68, pick 75.

Out: Luke Hodge, pick 34, pick 44, pick 62, Hawthorn’s 2018 fourth-round pick.
I thought the Pies, but then I saw Hawthorn!!

Hodge for Impey - a downgrade in playing talent
34 for 43 - a downgrade
44 for 68 - a downgrade
62 for 75 - a downgrade

To top it off also offloaded a 2018 pick!

Playing list weaker and made their drafting position worse off. What the feck is that??

You realise Hodge was retiring, right?

Hawks: Out Hodge In Impey. That's pretty sad.

Adelaide: Lost Lever and Cameron and gained Gibbs but at a massive cost of draft picks. That's a flag contender that at best is about equal list strength to 2018, probably a bit worse and lost a fair bit of draft currency.

North/Collingwood - Didn't do anything that will make them significantly better in the future. North getting rid of Gibson was interesting. Not good interesting - just interesting.

I really don't think we should be counting Hodge in this discussion, he wasn't playing for Hawthorn next year anyway.

If that's the case, West Coast got reamed by not getting anything for Priddis and Mitchell.

He still came 3rd in your BnF, and a good chance of giving as good if not better output to Brisbane than what Impey gives to the Hawks.

Out Hodge In Impey....ouch

If you want to play that game, we're also out Gibson. A multiple best and fairest winner. What a blunder.

Hodge was going to retire. Instead, he joined Brisbane for some junk picks. Seems pretty reasonable, eh? And the good thing about Impey is that he didn't already retire. In fact, he's 22. Might have something to do with his higher trade value. As opposed to, you know, a guy that wasn't going to be on the list anyway.

It's not like Hawthorn gave up an early second round pick in a good draft for a rookie that hasn't played above NEAFL level...

Has to make a decision. Are they resetting or not? I would have traded out Golstein. They have Pruess and cant play both. Surely goldstein would have got a late first or a couple of second rounders. Unless they paying a mountain of cash and no one wanted him?

Will be good to bump when Crows get a top 5 pick from the future 1st you gave up for the back pocket.

Depending on who the Saints manage to grab with 7/8, it could well be us. Collingwood and North probably right now though.
