No one mentioned has played as many great games as what Pendles has in the AFL era. I am not suggesting he is the best player of the modern era but he has certainly played the most consistent high level football out of anyone.

Selwood had a similar career, never really the best in the league in any given year, but pretty much a top 5 - 10 midfielder for their entire career, rarely playing a bad game.

Pendles won't go down as the greatest player of all time, but you'd draft him again any day of the week.
