Bairstow probably won two reverse Norms by being on Matera and then Kemp in '92 and '94, but to be honest after the 2006 horrible home loss to that year's Flying High Eagles, Geelong has dealt that club some fearful whippings since. Geelong was 4-14 head to head after the 1994 GF, we were the Eagle's bunnies for sure.

Since then Geelong lead 29-27-1, but also have an actual percentage for and against of 118.7% over West Coast, having scored 871 more points than them overall. And we've even won our last two finals against them en route to 4 Flags since '06. I consider revenge pretty much served over them by now!

Geelong did have players like Russell Merriman, Steve Handley, Leigh Tudor and Grant Tanner playing in those 90's GF's. But i'm sure there are worse players around than those.

Soldo worth a nomination?

Fletcher Roberts from us certainly deserves a shout although he was pretty great in the Prelim and handy in the GF. Just never went on to do anything after winning his flag.

Xavier Richards. Played 12 games in total, the last of which was the 2016 GF. Two weeks later requested a trade, no club was interested and was therefore delisted.

33 games total (9 of which were finals). Played in 2 grand finals (almost 3 but was dropped after the 09 prelim)

Played most of those games as a forward, for a total of 10 goals

Managed a solid 15 disposals and 1 behind in both GF appearances combined. Then delisted (re-rookied for 1 year) by never managed another game after those GF's

I can believe the tight win/loss but comfortable percentage lead for Geelong. Most years since Scott's taken over really, it's seemed like West Coast would eke out a tight one in the Perth fixtures, but we'd absolutely belt them at Geelong.

The anomalies that come to mind were an almighty thumping they dished out to us over there in 2015 (our most recent finals miss and a WC grand final year) and we took home the points from the away game this year (albeit in a much more competitive game than many predicted).

Brent Grgic far out. Played two decent games (both against us) and we recruited him. Still scratching my head over that one.

Never played a final for Geelong, but I consider Grgic to be the worst player I have ever seen turn out in the hoops.
He was decent at Melbourne.
When he was at Geelong though I suspected he may have been downing a bottle or two of cough syrup before the first bounce. Horrendous.

The GF where he was close to winning a Norm Smith. Is that the one where he had 20 possies. 600 mtrs gained. 5 inside 50's. 10 score involvements? Is that also the same GF where he looked as busy as a blue arsed fly having a burl at Briedis's ginormous record of bugger all snags and 7 behind the stick jobs in the 1977 GF? Bugger all snags 5 behind the stick jobs and hitting a spectator laces up on the full. Gave it a fair crack.

It's not the best or worst performance in a GF. Its the worst player to play in a GF. Prollie not the good oil saying he's the worst I've seen play in a GF. Definitely up there though. His name just sprung to mind I suppose.
