Going by CS 2022 list it looks like the now NB coach (ex CS coach) poached
Kyriazis ( injured at NB)
Mantas
Laurie
Tessari
Now apparently wanting Reid

CS must be fuming/disappointed at him for poaching, CS were a definite contender for the 2023 flag but with major injuries and NB coach poaching players just getting through the year competitively (as best as possible) is all I can see what they'd want, good to see Pt Cook have improved they may be the new contender.

Can work both ways I guess.

There's plenty of noise around. Where there's smoke there Is usually fire.

It's only of benefit to CS if BH was sending players (country recruits for example, to NB) the other way. I don't believe he has done this.

You can’t be dirty on him, he’s providing these players with a fantastic opportunity. They’ll become better players and when they are back at CS make the team better.

These players promotion to VFL only validates the impressive work that CS have done in their junior program over the years.

Just didn't want you to go up the freeway on this cold wet day and stand at Yarraville oval in the rain waiting for something to happen

1st game of local footy this season (been O/S), watched 2nd half at Featherbrook, PCC v CS. 7 lead changes, 5 in a very even 3rd Qtr. Good ball movement by both sides, end to end, very entertaining. PCC in front half way through the last, CS a bit too steady and experienced in the end as well as a bit better disposal.

Lake still doing a job up back, but CS were very happy when the final siren went.

Enjoyed listening to the PCC coach at 3Qt time, unlike the EDFL.

CS still in it I think and PCC probably the best side to come up for a long time.

They have recruited heavily the last 2 years. Basically half of Hoppers and some others.
They recruited div 1 players to div 2 which is a fair achievement.
Reckon they are spending a bit, but good on them for having a crack.

Spotty came to play and certainly did their homework. It was instantly visible to anyone there they had a game plan and roles to play.

I'm not sure I would say Altona has dropped off either. As with most sides, haven't had a best 22 play all year and the weekend just gone could count 5 outs.

Watching the 2's, I think what we are seeing is the new normal. In years gone by, an Altona 2's side would look good enough to play finals in D2, this year, I'm pretty confident they would struggle. League-wide, with possibly the exception of WD, I think depth is going to be a massive issue.

i haven’t watched them but was surprised when they got put in div 2 for two years in a row. and before last week they haven’t been going good. they even lost to west footscray 4 weeks ago by 100 points but then turned it around and just beat them by 20 points. is spotswood u18s back and should they be in div 1. does anyone know? because they have always been a proud club and probably wouldn’t be happy being in division 2

you will find they are in the 2’s in the kids age groups , probably dropped off in recent years as their neighbours (yarraville) are super strong in the 1’s

Don't have the cattle, if you look at their junior numbers compared to 10-15 years ago they've fallen away drastically

Not just Yarraville with monster junior numbers, go south one suburb and Newport also have huge numbers.
