Anyone got any thoughts on who might beat Glenorden this year? and how???

I think they can...

A few teams in Nth Footscray and Deer Park have got close.
Nth Footscray only went down by 6 points and it was the big fella in Rosenzweig up forward for the Hawks who was the difference in the end.
I think if sides can restrict Glenordens big men in Rosenzweig and Lovell, its a big step towards getting the 4 points. Keeping a close check on Disco in the guts will aslo help.. he gets a lot of the ball and very rearly wastes a possetion.

They are a good side and at the moment, deserve to be flag favourites.

I would think so if you guys think he is set for AFL. Aslo, why is he not playing ones for Western Magpies if he is that good.... he will get more out of playing senior footy than playing in Div B under 18's.

Mate ive herd of Ayden A Bourne ( The Hoff ) and he is a very tough bloke ... also keep ur girlfriends away from him coz he is quite the PIMP. Also make sure ur best backman is on him coz the bastard doesnt miss when he gets the ball. AFL Prospect for sure.

Deer Park came match Glen Orden, they held the big bloke at FF a few weeks ago, and really frustrated him (they did stand an extra 2 blokes in front of him), they look like they had Orden in the last 1/4 and if not for two silly incidents which saw 2 Deer Park players reported they probably would have won. With Ordens history of finals stuff-ups over the last few years, a good start by Deer Park in a final, would put bit of doubt in the minds of the Orden boys.

Wests are a very good side, but I have my doubts over whether they could match it in the middle with Orden.

I think that Deer Park have snuck a few extra wins this year because teams did not know alot about there new players.... when teams play them 2nd time around and finals it might be a bit different. I expect them to tail off as the year goes on.

Brunswick are no chance of beating anyone except the magpies. Until 2 weeks ago I would have said that Magpies were no chance of winning a game at all (after losing to heights by 40 goals), but results in the last 2 weeks have been better. They might have a 10% chance of winning a game (besides Brunswick).

Albanvale will go ok. They are an even team who have alot of goal kickers. Probably finish top 4.

I think that if Laverton can get within 40 points of a top 5 team like North Footscray then they may just cause a HUGE upset sometime this year .. your thoughts?

My mate plays for W.Footscray, and after some of their belting wins in the Reserves, amongst some pathetic opposition, I can't imagine the top3 or so going off track

I was umpiring when Brunswick Power came into the league, I umpired the seniors match when Kicket played, hes a mad player, but geez, their team is shiite, its real bad, no discipline, no skill, hardly fill a team in reserves or seniors, and I can't blame them, the team is crap, the changerooms are Z grade on a scale of Z being hellish crap stinking hell hole and A being like the best you can get , and not only that, that game i umpired, one of the players tried to deck the field umpire for receiving a yellow card for whatever it was, and he only got 8 weeks!


zzzz team is bad, really really bad...

Alotta guys have been playin reserves and seniors for the Magpies but now the Under 18's are coming up much more often so that hasnt been happening for the last couple of weeks.

It is quite obvious that the Power have lack of funds...
Money is the only way that the power are going to attrack any sort of players to be competetive at any stage in the near future.
Its good to hear they have a few young lads coming through though... that may helps to get them back on track.

Money might get you up short term, but u really need juniors. If you can't get juniors up it's a tough job long term.... just look at Centrals

Yeah agree with you there gobangfrom50. Juniors are a major component for a club to move forward.
I was just making a point on the future of the senior side.

Albanvale in that 1 for me. West rely too much on Lane, Cubella and Mcghie. Cubella is at the world cup and Albanvale have enough good players to cover 2 forwards.

Does anyone know anything about Baines from West. He is in the best every week?
