I have go-tos in different categories, I guess.

Some all-time favourites I've seen a bajillion times and quote in every day life and have become part of who I am (that clearly date me, too):
  • The Blues Brothers
  • Top Gun
  • Aliens
  • Ghostbusters
  • Ace Ventura
  • Office Space
  • The Big Lebowski

Some classics that I'll intentionally revisit on a semi-regular basis to savor and appreciate once again:
  • LOTR EE
  • The Godfather I & II
  • Casablanca
  • The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
  • Blade Runner

Some that I just know will entertain and will 100% watch if I happen to see them on TV:
  • Casino Royale
  • The Departed
  • Miller's Crossing
  • Indiana Jones (any of them, really)

Some that are just feel good or fun:
  • Ratatouille
  • Fantastic Mr Fox
  • The Fifth Element
  • Dumb & Dumber

I'd say absolute MINIMUM I've seen every movie on this list is ~3-4 times. MINIMUM. Some would be deep into the dozens.
And I haven't even mentioned my love for Christopher Nolan's movies, Clint Eastwood movies or obsession with everything Star Wars.

Good thread.

10 Things I Hate About You
Home Alone 1 & 2
Crazy Rich Asians
Mean Girls

Tell me what your go-to movies are...you know, the one you watch when you need a cheer up, the one you watch when you wanna have a good cry, a movie to get you pumped etc etc. Not something you've watched once and enjoyed, but the ole faithfuls.

Some of mine off the top of my head are Wayne's World and Forgetting Sarah Marshall for a cheer up. Moulin Rouge for a guaranteed sob sesh. The Labyrinth for some childhood nostalgia (and also because David Bowie )

Tell me yours at once!
We're the Millers

A colleague at work (24yo) did not understand my Castle reference the other day (another colleague was going to Bonnie Doon for the weekend) had nfi.

what's the worst movie you somehow keep watching?
Could be any fast and furious movie after the first one. I try to re-watch as many as possible in the series before seeing the latest installment at the cinema.

The one that used duct tape to get a car in space is a personal highlight/lowlight for me.
