Just an FYI - not everyone who has been at their clubs 8 or 9 years is a 'restricted free agent' (this appears to be how you have distinguished between restricted and unrestricted). In fact, the 'restricted' aspect of free agency relates to how well the player is currently paid in comparison with the rest of that club's playing group. Players are only classed as restricted free agents if they are in the top 25% of salaries, as per below:

http://www.afl.com.au/afl-hq/the-afl-explained/free-agency

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS

Players who are in the top 25 per cent of salaries at their club (that is, in the club’s top nine-10 paid players) are eligible for restricted free agency the first time they are out of contract, if they have served at least eight years with the club.

For example, a player who is contracted after his seventh year for one, two, three, four or five years will be eligible for restricted free agency when next out of contract having completed either eight, nine, 10, 11 or 12 seasons respectively.

A top 25 per cent player is eligible for unrestricted free agency when next out of contract, provided a player can never be an unrestricted free agent until completing at least 10 years’ service at one club.

For example, a player who signs a one-year contract after his eighth season is not eligible for unrestricted free agency until he has completed at least 10 years’ service.

Restricted free agents have the right to move to a club of their choice, subject to the current club’s right of first refusal over their services. That is, if the current club can ‘match’ the offer from a suitor club, the player must stay or enter the draft. The tabled offer includes only football payments and Additional Service Agreements (ASA) amounts.

As such, I daresay blokes like Brodie Martin, David Ellard, Dawson Simpson, Brendan Whitecross, Robbie Tarrant, Patrick McGinnity, Easton Wood and Jarrad Grant (and probably more, depending on their current salaries which I am unsure of) would not be restricted FA's at all, because none of them would even be close to being in the top 25% pay bracket at their clubs. Similarly, it seems pretty likely to me that guys such as Brent Stanton, Kieren Jack, Ted Richards, Andrew Swallow, Nathan Jones, Matthew Stokes and Richard Douglas (and maybe more) would actually probably fall into the restricted category due to their salaries. If any of those big money guys signed short-term deals a year or two ago when they were FIRST eligible as a restricted FA though, they'll be unrestricted this time, as per the extract above.

Make sense?

Starting to update the OP myself. Here is Collingwood's (short) list of FAs:

Collingwood
Brent Macaffer - Restricted (9 years)

Well - He is not a Big Target and I don’t think a Team would offer him enough to leave

Not sure on Lonergan. Know he signed a new deal after the Doggies interest and subsequent fall thru, but not sure if was a 2 year deal or a 2 year extension thru end of 2016. There was talk of both.

Are you sure he didn't just commit to seeing out his contract that expired in 2015?

There was talk that this had prompted an extension offer from the club. Ill try and find the post and link for it.

GFC tabled counter offer to Domsy of 1 yr extension when Doggies were barking. BMAC got the chop and he stayed. Only press I can find says he will see out his contract. Does not confirm or deny of that contract was amended to include the second year or not ( thru 16 )

Leave it is a FA at end of 15 for now.
Cheers

This is a rule to further assist the new expansion teams - GWS and Suns. They can continue to pilfer players knowing that they are years away from having to face free agency. I am tipping a few clubs will have long memories and count down the days until their players are included in FA.

Why wait until then. We can all have coordinated attacks to make sure that all of their players are paid market value, no way they could keep their lists together then.

Rumours were true…

Just re-signed with club thru end of 2016 at same time as Duncan and Caddy re-signed thru end 2018.

A question for West Coast fans.. Is there any chance of Scott Selwood entertaining FA or is he definitely going to re-sign with the Eagles?

Is there anything in the fact that Hurn was made Captain ahead of Selwood? Or is Hurn simply the best man for the job and Selwood will be happy to support him?
Well Stan, what do we take from this? Sometimes silence is deafening. Or perhaps nobody even cares. :D

I've got no idea Stan. But he is our vice-captain, and we will do our best to re-sign him. Hurn was the clear choice for Captain, with Scooter competing for the VC role with the likes of Mackenzie, Kennedy and Priddis.

While on the topic it's worth mentioning that Scooter recently went in for further surgery on the ankle made him miss most of 2014, with it being reported that he will be touch and go for round 1.

Patty Dangerfield, at Blues lock it in at end of 2015 season, SOS clearing up the salary cap

Would love James Aish from Lions too, hope Sos is onto it as well

How can you pay Dangerfield, When you paying Daisy a Heap?

How can you pay Dangerfield, When you paying Daisy a Heap?

Players have al ready exited last 2 seasons plus Juddy most likely playing final season so plenty of money to get Danger!

Would be perfect replacement for Judd to join Daisy, Gibbs, Murphy in the centre square

lol both are more likely to be at the Crows next year.

Basically no chance of securing either of them.

Hoping Jack Steven doesn't decide to leave.
What do you think the chance of him leaving are?

If he did decide to leave do you think he would stay in Melbourne or do you think he is willing to move interstate?

He's the joker who says Carlton's midfield is top 5/6

The full 2015 free agents list

That's gotta be accurate.

With how much interest was shown in the 2014 Free Agents thread I thought it would be fun to open a 2015 version as well. The list only includes guys off contract in 2015 and will be changed once the players who are off contract in 2014 have signed new deals. Once again, mods feel free to update the original post if it is outdated and I don't update it.

Nathan Jones has agree to a new contract, you can take him off the list
