Gratuitous thread bump because it's too hot to sleep.

Vicky Park, doodles98, Bad Horse, newer comrades, what stopped you from becoming sporting legends? Any hidden sports talents you'd care to share?

An exceptional lack of athletic ability in my case. But I'm a very energetic and opinionated supporter. I excel at that.

What stopped you from being the sporting legend you were meant to be?
Define legend and in the eyes of whom? My kid thinks I'm a legend, get a few beers into me, I think I'm a legend, get a few scotch's into me I think everyone thinks I'm a legend.

........I tend to drink more than I should!!!!

195cm, 95kg, quick off the mark, good tank, and a healthy amount of aggression. The only thing holding me back is my total lack of talent, and the fact I played my first game of footy at 29 :p

I'm a decent stopper playing in the backline, but the definition of a liability with the ball in hand

You would have been perfect as a 'Grand Final Specialist' for an outer suburban league club in the eighties.

Start you in the middle, a bit of face shiatsu, and the opposition rover retires to the pine.

You might cop 14 weeks at the tribunal, but you're eligible to go back-to-back the following September.

Long before the national draft I Lived in a Carlton zone. Goes without saying that I was a highly talented gun mid/half forward. Carltony literally threw money, women and drugs at me to get me to go down and train with them at Princess Park. I did the right thing and took all the bags of money they offered and then told them to gagf. What else could I do?

Curious as to why you only took the money and not the women.

Nearly asked how things are at the Saints, then realised something wasn't quite right.

I still play footy and I'm a half decent ruck. Tall, strong, can run all day, but at the pace of tectonic movement and I have the coordination of a drunk hipster. So basically I should have been traded to Gold Coast except I like the physical stuff it's just I can't run fast enough to catch anyone so I can hit them.

As a kid I played junior footy, was a tiny weed of a kid and would get cleaned up every game - still went back for me, loved it.

My mothers current boyfriend at the time was an aboriginal fella who would make me roo stew before every game to "give me more bounce" never understood that joke until a couple of years ago.

By the time I was 12 both of my knees had decided against me playing contact sport, always remember how much fun it was playing footy.
