Well if that's true we should be getting a decent pick otherwise they would wait until trade closing time to chuck us a late draft pick, as they threatened to do in their peeved twitter comment straight after losing Franklin to us.

Maybe they have settled down and are now realising they are better off without Franklin so want to trade fairly. Fair would be their pick 19.

So I'm hoping the deal is fair and not just a discarded icecream wrapper.

They never lost Franklin to us. From what we're aware of, Franklin always wanted to come to the Swans. So in a sense GWS were trying to hijack the deal with a much bigger offer. They're just being bitter regarding their attitude over the Twitter comment about Mumford.

Swans defender Tony Armstrong and Jesse White could be traded to Collingwood as part of a three-team trade involving West Coast. The Magpies are reportedly close to offloading picks 10 and 27 to the Eagles in exchange for picks six and 40. The latter draft pick, 40, would then be sent to the Harbour City for Armstrong and White. ​

That seems very low for two players. White alone should go for late 20's early 30's. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an exchange of picks in there too, like a swap of second rounders.

He's out of contract according to all the media reports over the last week or so. I guess it's a bit of goodwill towards Tony by the club to get him to a club that wants him through a trade rather than being stuck in limbo for a month longer with even more uncertainty.

Wow, Giants just traded Tyson, #9 and #53 for #2.

Not sure if the Demons are winning that trade or the Giants are, remember Tyson had knee surgery last year.

If we delisted him then he'd be a delisted free agent and could get anywhere anyway. It seems to me that we're waiting to see what happens with Trade Week and if we'll have room for either/both. It may even be that we can keep one but not the other, so we're seeing which one we'll successfully manage to trade, not offering either a contract until we know either way.

I think that's a pretty even deal really. Obviously contingent on Tyson aiming up and becoming the star he was touted to be but I think that's a pretty good trade for both sides.

Good job by both parties in getting it done rather than fussing and feuding about it for another week.

Fair point but the earlier Tony gets to another club, the better from his perspective. If he waited until the delisted free agency signing period, clubs' lists are a little more full and perhaps Collingwood would have moved on from him as a viable option.

Obviously I have no idea what the actual motives are behind this all, but it makes sense from that perspective for Tony to get to Collingwood (or any other club wanting to trade for him) as quickly as possible, particularly as he hasn't had a brilliant last 24 months and I doubt half the competition is climbing over each other to offer him a contract.

Agree makes no sense.
Its not like their trading in a player who will give them an instant inprovement. Dyson has played 13 games.
