That is an impressive last, it will be more impressive if they can keep any more than 60% of that squad together once they are all off their rookie contacts and looking for a pay rise.

Any interest in a 3way trade with the Filth and the Paddle Pops.

Our third and Laids to Bris.
Karnezis to Coll.
Paine to us.

Laidler is gone, so we can take him out of the equation.... A third for Paine? Sounds a solid deal. I think Brisbane would prefer Paine to the Laidler/3rd package though.

To think that, at this moment, they also have picks 1 and 2 to go into that lineup somewhere.

Kanga?

Chicken?

buckwheat for nice carbs for size?

Being in the UK, I would be going with venison and wild boar :P

I'm not a huge fan of carbs during training... but if you feel the need to seriously indulge in a carb feast then I would go with buckwheet (beechwheet) or wild rice (better for you than the standard bleached white rice).

Believe they have another compensation pick up their sleeve for 2014. They'll probably ontrade it with pick 20 to St Kilda in exchange for pick one and Steven.

Dear God. Brb, getting lube.

"Brisbane has received some rare good news with Brent Staker about to sign a new two-year deal.

He had spoken to Carlton as the Blues stood firm on their policy of one-year deals for veterans."
That is List Management!!

No, as in, we're all effed.

Maybe except Gold Coast.

Thanks AFL... mind you... in 10 years once all the 'concessions' are well and truly dead and they are having to compete on a level footing with the rest of the league... they will be screwed.

GC17 are looking good for the next few years, and GWS is looking good for about 5 years after that.

not wishing to be nasty, but I hope that in his first game for the scum, Chapman goes down with both hamstrings going ping and the scum have to pay his contract for 2 years while he recovers.

Paine is an OK young forward who I wouldn't lose any sleep over should we bring him across. However that doesn't appear to be on the radar and he seems destined to go to Brisbane.

Doesn't have many standout qualities but one thing worth noting is his marking prowess. He's a terrific mark both in a one on one situation as well as in a pack.

The rest of his game, however, leaves something to be desired. He's not a particularly great kick for goal, he's not particularly quick or agile, and he doesn't possess a particularly strong defensive game.

At this stage he's very much a one dimensional footballer with not many tricks under his sleeve. What you see is what you get. However to his credit he has shown significant ability at VFL level with him hitting the scoreboard heavily on a number of occasions.

I think he'll make it as a footballer but he certainly won't be a star. Good solid footballer seems to be his ceiling. My gut feel is that he'll certainly see significantly more senior game time as a Lion than he has thus far as a Pie. I also believe he's a better footballer than Karnezis and that if that straight swap does eventuate, whilst it's a fairly nothing trade, Brisbane would probably start out in front.
