Maybe we should be sending him in to do our AO review. We could walk away with ownership of the Oval and maybe even the Riverbank precinct.Hey McKay is very underrated..... at getting good deals from us

If we loose Danger next year we won't even get a compensation pick good enough to get Aish with, unless we finish bottom 4.If danger goes we've got the money to throw at Jeremy Cameron. The problem is how do we bring him and aish to the crowd in the same year. Think cameron will command two first rounders.

Sanders, my next sentence was that I would like him to sign on early, but we shouldn't expect it.Hasnt tex just signed a year out? Gray? Cotchin?
We get JC, trading the compo picks we got for Danger. If Danger leaves, I wonder what big name recruit we will spend the money on?
Or will we just roll it forward like we did with the Tippett money, waiting for the day when we landed whatshisname?

If you do say so yourself sir. Neat as a pin you think? And as my post neatly shows, why not?

Why not? Because Dangerfield is neither Cotchin or Gray. Duh.
Or do you think that these two have forced all AFL players to re-sign a year before their current contracts expire? Or does this new law just apply to Dangerfield?

Sometimes I wonder if you are just joking around with some of your strange positions on thingsThat didn't take you long to forget I gave 3 recent examples not 2
And they rather neatly disprove your contention that it would unreasonable to expect him to sign. Clearly it is not unreasonable when superstars like gray & cotchin sign. Not forgetting tex
It's an entirely normal thing to do if you want to.

Now if you think all good players should sign a year before their contracts are up to avoid the media circus ... then I guess we have to agree to disagree. I'd love Dangerfield to sign up sooner than later, but we are always banging on about the breaking of contracts being the devils work - and here we are smashing a guy for no reason at all.
Hasnt tex just signed a year out? Gray? Cotchin?

Doubtful. How would we feel if Danger signed with Carlton in 2016 :-(

Danger was pissed off at trigg over the sanctions penalising afc getting the best possible playing group... So no chance of joining Carlton!Doubtful.
Danger wants to go to a SUCCESSFUL club. Not a club turning to shit with Trigg at the helm.

But Chapman told me one of the reasons they didn't sack Trigg was the player support he received from Danger and co. Did he lie to me?Danger was pissed off at trigg over the sanctions penalising afc getting the best possible playing group... So no chance of joining Carlton!

You are now arguing an entirely different point.
Let's recap shall we?
I said:
You replied with some examples of players that had signed on early:
I said we shouldnt expect him to sign just because your examples did:
Then somehow you showing examples shows that we should expect it:
I said why not - and didn't miss Tex out on purpose, you can add him in if you like it doesn't change my point:
Now you are arguing that it is not unreasonable to expect Dangerfield to sign, because it's an entirely normal thing to do:
I think you may be just stirring? Or your logic would also be ok with Woody Allen's classic:
“All men are mortal. Socrates was mortal. Therefore, all men are Socrates.”
That's a lot of effort to dig yourself out of a very simple hole.
If similar, and arguably better players can agree a certain amount of time out, then there is no reason, none at all, to expect or think that another player can't or wouldn't do the same. They may choose not to, but it's not an unreasonable ask.
No amount of obfuscation can make this simple matter anything other than simple.
Players can and do sign at this point. And I'm not going to discuss it further

Grotto, a few have made this kind of statement ... about how it will be hard for THEM to handle the trolls and how it is only going to get worse, for THEM.
It's really weird. Are you saying Dangerfield should sign now to make it easier for YOU? So YOU don't have to deal with the occasional Port supporter and the articles in the local paper??
Ridiculous in my opinion.
Hasnt tex just signed a year out? Gray? Cotchin?
