Calculated risk. We'd need to have a fair bit of confidence in our footy dept to fill up our future salary cap and hope to low-ball based on premiership success though. Especially considering a gap in high end draft pucks to be felt if we cannot replace them with suitable free agents. But I do kinda like the idea of rolling the dice, very old un-adelaide like. Well, at least legally.

We've also got the new TV rights coming into play in a year or two I think? With that the cap should see a rise which is why I think Sydney offered Franklin the money they did. Regardless, other teams can still offer more but if you're a top side, your very rarely give players up to those lower ranked clubs unless they offer that player a ridiculous amount of $$$/years.

Personally, I'd rather see us go all or nothing, at least if it comes off it should mean we're a premiership side rather then a top 8 side that isn't quite good enough to challenge.

Personally I would be happy to bank on the Tex, Sloane, Talia and B.Crouch quartet as the franchise players for the next 5 years and back in the draft and moneybag approach from there

Even if he goes, I'd like to see a strategy that utilises his pace to cut zones to shreds. I know his brute force can extract the nut from a contest, but just because he can doesn't mean it's in the best interests of the the team that he does.
