Think we will learn from last season and come out all guns blazing.

2-0 up after 15 minutes, sit on that scoreline for the next hour, Villa get one back with 10 mins to go and we just survive a nervy ending (including Villa hitting the bar at least once) to hold on.

Ill be going for Villa just because it's always nice to see the smaller teams win trophies.

Plus I can say we lost to the eventual winners. Softens the blow and all that.
Villa?
Small?

Though, I guess.... In comparison they are. We could say the same thing about Liverpool if they were playing Arsenal in the final.

I'm going to buck the trend and invoke the wrath of the footballing gods.

Arsenal 4 - 1 Villa.

Arsenal haven't lost to Villa in the last 9 meetings (8 wins 1 draw) with our last loss to them being 4 seasons ago.

Arsenal have also averaged 3 goals a game against Villa over that period - scoring 3 goals x 4 times and 5 goals in the last meeting between the two.

Didn't you lose 3-1 at home on the opening day 2 seasons ago?

Benteke hat - trick. Arsenal are good for 1 trophy ever 10 years. Wouldn't seem right for them to win 2 in consecutive seasons.
1926-35 - 5
1936-45 - 2
1946-55 - 3
1956-65
1966-75 - 2
1976-85 - 1
1986-95 - 3
1996-05 - 7
2006-15 - 1

And that's only League and Cup. I'm not even counting their League Cup or Europe (Cup) trophies.

I'd consider anything beyond 2012 is practically irrelevant. The Villa squad has changed so much in that time, I'd suspect Gabby is the only constant
