Boys regardless of the result if you are in Perth centre tomorrow wear your NM guernsey or T shirt with pride. I will be. The worst team in the 8 nearly created history.

Tried to get into the 'footy spirit' last night....it was hot dogs and chips for tea, tune in to Channel 7 for the lead up into the game....Have sworn several times NEVER to watch the 'Pre-Game' show but this was our attempt to get the 'experience' from 3000 km away. Without doubt, the greatest load of self-indulgent crap any side of the Nullabor......EVERY story or snippet involved Lingy, Richo , BTor Darcy, regardless of what the story was about.

I have massive respect for our Media Dept. at North......but if we 'suck up' to Channel 7 and then have degrading comments about our Club spat out by these jerks, we need a re-think.
Fans from interstate teams that travel to Melbourne are lauded over as "keen, proud, passionate" supporters....ours who travelled to Perth were "few" ( forget about the thousands of dollars they spent). Anyone watching the telecast saw groups of blue and white around the whole ground, but these were ignored for 'effect'.

Can someone please post what is said in regards to that disgusting state of affairs last night on this morning's footy shows. I cannot bring myself to watch any of them. It would not be good for my health.

Some of the dodgy frees/non-frees that went for the Weagles were highlighted as glaring errors, and the Shuey one was described as "non-existent" and "momentum changing", on the Offsiders. Nobody said they all went to the Eagles. But one panellist said it shows the umpires are human.

Hmmmm?

According to Jimmy Bartel on Gameday, Jacobs and Shuey 'cancelled each other out'.

Errr, what?

Time to head outside and do some gardening.

In fairness, it does - they are in a cauldron of noise all cheering for one team. Umpires in any sport are not infallible and West Coast aren't the only team in world sport to consistently get the rub of the green from officials (go and watch a match at Old Trafford, or a Lakers home playoff game etc).

As soon as you actively tell them to not be influenced by the crowd, they will probably miss legitimate free kicks for West Coast because they are conscious of not favouring them.

Sorry...professional sport/ professional participants/ professional pay/ professional support = amateurish performance. If our AFL umpires are influenced by crowd shouting then these umpires should not be given 'big crowd' games.....did Richmond get the 'rub of the green' against us? (90,000 fans with 75,000 raging Tiger fans) Did Hawthorn get the 'rub of the green' with the Purple Army going bonkers?
It DOES happen to us each time...co-incidence? I think not!

You lost me at "In fairness". The umpires don't need me sticking up for them.

I'm not trying to stick up for them, but anyone who thinks all officials can go out there and completely ignore any sort of crowd noise, atmosphere etc is kidding themselves.

I thought the umpiring was appalling and went far beyond any sort of sub-conscious bias, I am just making the point that people expect human umpires to be impartial robots. It will never happen, even if you make them full time professionals.

Can't wait for Hutchy to analyse 'horror' our season tomorrow night, "resting players in R23 didn't end up working, old and tired list going nowhere, recruiting free agents clearly hasn't worked, Scott is obviously on thin ice now, the jungle drums are beating on Brayshaw's presidency, still relying on old pops Harvey to win games, premiership window is completely shut, recruiting has been questionable, the Carey/Stevens fiasco didn't help the teams preparation......." will be the highlight of the season.

I thought they actually did well note to be swayed by crowd noise. Made those four howlers (trip not paid, Shuey and darling goals, and marking free against Waite) even more perplexing. Will wait with interest (not really) for AFL announcement on them, as everybody is commenting.

By being full time professionals, lets hope there is accountability atleast!
