Don't ask me, that's what they're doing. Rating people on their season just gone, and De Goey even as a rookie is certainly not a 7.

No I meant your comment that he "only averaged 14 touches for gods sake"

Look, this isn't meant to be shitting on the bloke, but a bunch of North posters in this thread are massively over-rating Bastinacs market value.

You guys need to prepare yourself for when a deal is done.

**** giving Basti away on the cheap. Don't care if he wants to go, and that Brisbane and Collingwood are desperate to use him in a trade.

We have all the power here, he is contracted and we don't need to trade him. If we truly are in "our window", we need depth. A couple of injuries to say Swallow and Cunnington and all of a sudden Basti is playing in the guts. Doubt we could throw pick 26 of whatever in there. Yeah, yeah I get that he's an expensive ressies player but we've had a pretty good run with injuries to our inside mids which has meant we haven't had to test our depth.

TL/DR: Basti goes in a trade for Aish, otherwise he stays. **** 'em all.

Just got to work and told by some random dude that he heard that Majak was exploring his options and had some interest from other clubs , has anybody heard this or am I right to flush this knuckleheads melon down the toilet ?
I did read somewhere (The Age?) that Majaks future at North would be determined after trade period. That would kinda suggest to me that he's been offered up but no suitors? With Currie gone, would think he's a must keep, which kinda may suggest the club isnt optimistic about his legal situation. Maybe I'm on the wrong path all together.

Tom Bell the turnover merchant, and Jake Melksham the princess netted pick 21 and pick 25. Basti is considerably better than the two of them with considerably more upside. In fact Greenwood was better than those two peanuts as well.

Both those players were uncontracted as well. If we don't get something half reasonable for a contracted player who we have pumped 120 games into then we are continually going to get reemed at the trade table. We should have held out for longer last year with Greenwood, and we should hold until Brisbane offer us something better this year.

If Aish comes to North because Collingwood couldn't get the deal done, then we should expect nothing but 2nd rate efforts on the field from this bloke.

He'll only be wearing the blue and white because we offered him 500,000 per year and cos Collingwood couldn't nab him.

Seriously who wants to pay that much for a potential poor attitude.

Bell netted equiv pick 31 for blues

There is a lot more to go with the Bastinac /Aish trade. It'll go down to the wire.
Whether Aish comes to us or not that's between Collingwood and Brisbane, we should do what's right for Bastinac and Brisbane even if we just par and not eagle on this trade.
Brisbane should be considered an allie for future trades, because they have an academy and will need points in the future. As well as the amount of players that want to leave.
Having said That Aish would be nuts to turn down the extra 100k or so to play for Collingwood.
I think some people are cut because the only thing holding us back from getting Aish is Aish himself.
Collingwood seem to search for trades that benefit them most and seem to think a win win for all parties is their loss.

Aish has a hard on for Pendles, hence his desire to play at the Pies.

However $$ talks and I am sure that we are offering only what we can afford. Joyce and Co. are a very practical group. That money would have been set aside for Patch and Narni if they were still going around, so we will likely still have plenty of cap space if we get him.

I'm getting a bit tired of the equivalent thing already.

They've come up with arbitrary draft pick weighting process. Bravo.

Pick 21 is still pick 21 is still pick 21.

Brisbane are not going to give you pick 17. They need the points for Hipwood and Keays as well as another academy player that slips my mind. There is no way that bastinac is worth a pick under 30 weak draft or not. Remember last year Greenwood was 2nd in your b&f and you only got 25 for him. May want to look at the bastinac trade in a more realistic side of things instead of the current fairy land deals being posted.
Even if Melksham was pick 25 and Tom Bell was 31 or something? Basti's a better footballer than those two, I think pick 21-30 range isn't an unrealistic asking price given those two trades this year.

Negativity here is astounding. We are pushing COLLINGWOOD all the way to the line on a MARQUEE TRADE. In the YEAR 2015. If you'd have told me we'd doing this even four years ago, I'd call you mad.

Aish isn't exactly 'marquee' player.

More of a 'prospective' player

Not when other picks were exchanged. It is an arbitrary weighting process but it's not as clear cut as pick 21

And we are going to need a stack of cash for Goldy next year.

Is Aish a marquee player though? Did people watch him this season? All he's done so far is have a similar, admittedly very promising, first year to the season Mullett came 2nd or 3rd is the RS, and then had a similar drop off. Big question marks on his attitude to hard work...although Brisbane are happy they've got a bit of a bidding war, they're pretty happy to see the kid go, which is not a great sign imo.
