Ever since Scott Thompson bruised his lungs that time he has not been the same, i dont think he ever will be, however not like our midfielders do a great job of clogging up space to help out at the moment....we need players with leg speed you can 1 or 2 slowish mids but he have a truckload of them

I think we started to address the slow midfield problem by acquiring Anderson,Clarke,Mountford and "lefty" Wagner but it'll take a bit of time. Trading for a ready made quickish midfielder wouldn't go astray.

We grew and helped him through injuries for only 15 games or whatever it is over 4 years it would be worse than Levi. We have no forwards and those swans want him they have Sam Reid Franklin tippet and I'm sure I'm missing one it's a joke.

Losing Levi was shit, losing Wood would be....ummm....a cant think of enough expletives and am not articulate to explain how I'd feel. I don't think I'd forgive Cam Joyce. EVER

It will actually be interesting when more teams get a hint of this. Freo and Brisbane will also be sharpening pencils.

If, and big if, we met the contract request and he still said no (COLA says our 500k is worth more than theirs) then we have no choice but to say farewell. We'd have to look at what he would be displacing first up. Rohan's name will come up. Same with Reid (nope). Perhaps Papley can be prized away (Swans supporters will be up in arms but fact is he is rookie listed and they have to give up to get).

Would we look at Mitchell?

In all likelihood, I could see a three way trade with Carlton but I sense Sydney value picks very highly with the academy. Problem is, unless another club comes in and Wood hasn't got a preference then we are over the barrel a bit.

Regardless, I think it's moot. We'll offer the money. No reason for him to leave.

I'd be looking at the Giants list, with all their round 1 draft picks, and the need to re-shuffle their list so they can squeeze in all their academy picks.
