I don't like womens football.

I agree. Does anyone like it? Really? I mean, really..... if they were pressed to be totally honest?

Women's sport is terrible to watch, because women, quite simply aren't as athletic or capable as men physically. Yet it is "politically incorrect" to state that you don't like it. My sister hates watching women's sport too, so it's not a "sexist" thing. It's just not as good to watch.

I think most people don't care for it, but they are afraid to say so.

It's true that people are entitled to their own opinion. But the amount of people that are afraid to say they don't like women's sport is entirely down to political correctness. You barely hear a harsh word about it for fear of causing offence.

I'm curious; how have you quantified this 'fact'? Have you at all, or is it your own biases just shining through?

In answer to your question (even though I disagree with the premise of your question regarding use of the word "fact" when I didn't use that word) it's because I hear very little criticism of women's sport. And that's fair enough, I might add. Why upset people by saying you don't like something when there is nothing to be gained from doing so? My own suspicions are that most people don't care too much regarding women's sport, but they generally keep their mouths shut to avoid upsetting 51% of the population.

There is plenty of criticism of the standard of women's sport among lay people, though. I come across it all the time; know plenty of people (all men) who argue that women should be paid less for winning Grand Slams, for example.

I know several people who are really looking forward to the women's league, for example. Me personally? I think it's a great initiative, but I'm not yet that interested because Essendon don't have a team.

I know several people who are really looking forward to the women's league, for example. Me personally? I think it's a great initiative, but I'm not yet that interested because Essendon don't have a team.

Women should be paid less for tennis, they only play 3 sets per match (best of 3 anyway).

Is that the old 'silent majority' argument. People must agree with me, but not be saying so, because the alternative is unthinkable?

Also, you stated a quantity, albeit loosely when you said 'most'. That implies a degree of factuality to your argument beyond, I have no real idea, I am making it up as I go along. So

So, was it the former? Most is correct, and you have some basis for that? Or the later, you have no basis for thinking it's most, you just stated it because it suited your point?

The general commentary on women's football is terrible, even when it's well meaning. Tends to be a variation of that's Fantastic, you can kick the ball, and your a GIRL.

Almost every interview of a female player includes, How did you get into footy? The answer is the same as guys would answer if they were asked that question, but they never are.

Sod this. I don't really have a view on this one. People can watch whatever they like or not watch or whatever.

My unpopular opinion is that I'm not certain GWS are that great. Talent leaking out the sides all over the place obviously, but might be vulnerable to being out coached. I'm not fond of their forward setup or how they deliver the ball to their forwards - which seems a result perhaps of how their forwards seek the ball delivered. I'm probably totally wrong and all, but I'm a bit sceptical of the guaranteed six of the next ten flags or whatever has been suggested. They seem a tad one dimensional atm

The more athletic male footballers get the less interesting it is to watch

It can have a market for the exact reason that this sport wasn't meant to be played by 36 blokes who can run all over the ground for 2 hours straight

Male athletes always outperform female athletes, men's sport is always going to be better and better to watch. I enjoyed watching the women's football. I also enjoy watching local (country/suburban) football. Sure it's not the best product out there but I still find it entertaining. Fortunately the game, like all games are for the fans and if you aren't a fan then this is not for you. Womens football will grow and improve simply because it exists and it will increase female participation rates through the roof and that will cause a moderate rise in male participation rates as well. Like it or loathe it, it has to exist.

I agree, there's no reason they shouldn't play 5 in the majors. Women run the same marathon distance as as the men. Same triathlon distance. Soccer games all go for 90mins +injury time.

Just make the change and the fitness levels will go up to cope with it. I can't see the problem.
