Harley clearly stating that Mills and Jones will make the move to the midfield as reported by whoever the hell reported it on here.

So we're looking for some mid sized defenders now.

harley is making it up as he goes. he clearly stated mids and key position players were our priority before the draft period started. mills and jones can go to mids without langdon. thats what we recruited ling and stoddart for. langdon had a really good grand final. apart from which he could be described as an average to good player. horse clearly driving this.

I already went through that with some new friends in RobbieK and Ashep. It was massive at the time and we forced the Filths hand. thank you for your contribution to the thread. WASAC.
Gee you’re not good at a bit of banter

Haven't looked since late last night 455 posts I've missed , has anything happened while I was playing shit golf.

the 425 of mine were all quality,

It's looking like Collingwood want a first round pick for him. I'm glad we've given ours away as he isn't worth that.
We'd be holding our early 2nd rounders for Blakey so what are we trading then? We've still got 31 and 34 right?

I seriously doubt they're just winging it. I'd imagine there would be a shit load of planning going on and they'd have to adapt depending on what trades they get done. It was reported quite awhile ago that Mills and Jones were told they'd be playing midfield in the season reviews.

Disagree.

Ling and Stoddart cannot play intercepting, spoiling roles in defence. They are light and quick rebounding defenders, Ling I could even see further up the ground in the future. We lack that flexibility in defence which has cost nearly all involved - Sir Dane, Aliir, Mills - the chance to be in their most suited roles. Langdon coming in is just another number down there to make sure we reinforce the back six without Mills and Jones.

As for Langdon himself, he has all the makings of a gun. That much was obvious from his first season. His development has stagnated a bit (who wouldn’t stagnate at that rabble club under pre-2018 Buckley) but he has enormous potential.

Swans ain't exactly intimidating either.

not convinced about Langdon
sure, gives more flexibility to Rampe

will the team just be too skewed towards defenders? i know we usually have a 7th, sometimes an 8th defender
sometimes it seems like they're all playing defense roles but how do we structure the side

should we have given Grundy another year? how many games will he actually play with Langdon, Rampe, Aliir, Melican
and does this mean they are very confident Melican can succeed Grundy as the go to for the biggest forwards

do we look to trade Maibaum?
maybe in the vandenburg deal?

Hi all ... long time reader of this forum .. rarely post but .. I’m currently at Sydney airport and just saw Hannebery chatting with Andrew Ireland before running to make the final call of a flight to the Gold Coast .. just going up for a holiday or something more?
Make sense to me .. would get more out of GC as Stewie knows his worth (when fit) .. could help us with the Langdon trade or something else ..
Thoughts?

You said it yourself. Langdon, Melican, Sir Dane and Aliir. There’s your back line. You have two talls - one who can play loose (Aliir), and two medium-sized defenders - one who can play tall (Sir Dane). That is flexibility. Grundy becomes depth, which ain’t a bad thing at all (albeit would feel wrong seeing Reg in the NEAFL again)

Would have to be a holiday. He seems 100% set on St Kilda.

Nice Swans-spotting info though!

do Suns have a spare first rounder? We could give that to the Pies for Langdon?

Most likely correct .. would be a little left of field and contrary to him saying he wants to get back to Melbourne for family reasons ..
