Play Nice Geelong home final at GHMBA Stadium, is this an unfair advantage?

Fair playing field like Richmond having to play both their home finals at the oppositions home ground last year?

You raise a good point. Richmond should not have to play on the MCG if its against a fellow MCG tenant.

Totally unfair. Should play at a neutral venue like Marvel instead.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Would they release half the seating for the opposition.

The ground is really only fit for VFA football to narrow for AFL.
AFL takes control of finals.
It's not a 'home' game in the traditional sense at all.

Should be played at the MCG if it's Richmond as Sydney Stack is the Rising Start winner 'MCG' specialist and the most amount of people should be allowed to see him do his business live. GMHBA is just not big enough for all his fans.....

As we are forced to give up home games to play at Marvel, thats life, why are you more deserving of 11 home games than other teams?

Slightly different because if Richmond finish high enough they never have to worry about playing a final at Marvel. This would be like if Richmond played Bulldogs first week and it was at Marvel. Richmond supporters would throw a s**t fit. And yet that’s exactly what people are saying Geelong should put up with

My comment was in regard home and away games, all mcg tenants are forced to play a home game or two at Marvel, often against a team who's home ground it is, while we have this ridiculuos imbalance in games it will never be a fair sustem.

Let’s face it, Stephen Hocking will give Geelong a home final at their homeground this upcoming finals series. We all know it’s coming after 2 years of complaining (even though it was never an issue before when they could win finals).
So, given that their first final won’t be played at a neutral venue like Marvel or the MCG, will they have an unfair advantage this season?

A Richmond supporter talking about Geelong getting an unfair advantage in a home final? After Geelong had to play at theirs at the MCG v Richmond when they finished higher?

Really?? Are you joking?? What rubbish.

This is the club who lobbied to the AFL to get our home game in 2017 moved to their home ground.......in the home & away season.

Geelong fans do realise that for finals, you have to open up 50% of the tickets to the opposition team?
No comfort of your season ticket like a regular H&A game.
If thousands of Cats fan are OK to miss going to the game, then so be it. Let them have it.
Well aware......there is precedent

Indeed so why are so many Melbourne teams so terrified of GHMBA?

Its not like its another state or anything.

1.Should Geelong host a home final at GHMBA Stadium
2.and have an unfair advantage?

1. Yes I think Geelong should host a home final at their home ground
2. No. They shouldnt be entitled to any unfair advantages because that would be unfair.

Slobbo wrote in today's HScum that Geelong should get a home final if they play GWs/WestCoast/Bris/Adelaide

But not any other teams?
**** that- all or none
And then people wonder why fans of non Vic teams claim bias against them

I don’t give a s**t how many opposition supporters get to watch their team at our ground, we finish top 4 we deserve it. Remind me how many tickets both teams get for the grand final? Bugger all.

You get the advantage in the home and away season 11 games at home minimum, almost guarantees finals. MCG teams only have the home ground advantage against non MCG teams.

Swings and roundabouts.
Yeah so it makes it easier to make finals. Doesn't make it easy to finish top 4 or top 2 as a non Vic team has to win numerous away games to get there

And you just completly ignored the first part of my comment, Geelong is FORCED to play at the MCG by the AFL, they have no option.

It's basically the AFL going "you have to play home games at the MCG, So because we are forcing you to do that we are calling it one of your home grounds, and now because it's one of your home grounds we are robing you of your right to home finals and you can play them at your other home ground, which we forced you to play at".
Do you think if you played all 11 home games at kp you’d get a home final there? I’ll say this again, the afl have always said it’s home state final so Every Victorian club will play their finals at the mcg unless like what happened in 2013 all 4 teams hosting a final were Victorian teams and your opponent was an interstate side. You’ll remember that all of Hawthorn, Collingwood, Richmond and Geelong hosted finals on that first weekend. Those were the days before Thursday night finals so games were hawks on Friday night, pies on Saturday afternoon, cats Saturday night and tigers Sunday afternoon. Now the afl doesn’t play finals on Sunday anymore so if that happened again you just might get yourself a final at kp. So you need pies to finish 2nd, tigers to finish 5th and maybe the bombers to finish 6th. Oh and then you’ll need say gws to finish 4th. If all those pieces fall into place.... bang! You might just see another final played in Geelong.

I can't wait for it to get to September again and a Melbourne team (probably Richmond) get gifted a home final when they don't even deserve it, let alone the 7 homes they get in a row at the G. This thread is just crazy. Should be shut down. Every team gets their advantages and disadvantages ground wise. Deal with it.
