Shuey has been hampered all year. Looked like a groin or hip (the way he's been moving), which may have contributed to creating a whole new hammy injury. If he needs 2-3 weeks then that's what he needs.
Give a young guy a few games.
Ah Chee probably survives because of the win and Shuey injury.

Cameron for Jones looks obvious, but with a wet forecast and dew after 1/2 time our selection committee might decide Hickey is a better like for like.

Bailey Williams unlucky again as OAllen responded beautifully to his kick in the pants and Waterman also put in a good one.
Did you notice the heavy strapping and padding to his lower ribs when he took his jumper off in the change rooms? He got belted around in the first hub game and I wouldn't be surprised if he has badly bruised or even cracked ribs.

Yes, I saw that. Definitely protecting a damaged rib there.

Was interesting he mentioned Brander but as forward option and not as a mid.

Nah I think he’s got it right here:

If it’s like-for-like, we’re looking at a midfielder or a small forward.

That would put the likes of Jarrod Brander, who missed the Swans game with a hip injury, and Brayden Ainsworth, who was the emergency, at the front of the queue to replace Shuey.

Brander is also an option to play forward in a re-shuffle, although that is unlikely given his size would make it the land of the giants inside the attacking arc.

Yes. He's also been grabbing/rubbing his groin/upper inside thigh when off the contest.

Regardless, he's been hampered all year and this hamstring may actually be a chance to get everything else right. Those that have been critical of his performances this year are being overly harsh. With one or two other injuries (of unknown intensity) he has just been unable to perform at 100%. History shows that he is not a shirker, and if he was on the bench with jumper off then he was cooked and knew it.

Last time Shuey had a hammy injury we won the flag just saying.

Several of our best 22 had rehab layoffs in season. They were fit and fresh when it mattered.

DO NOT rush Shuey back in, skipper or not.

Blood some kids, use their energy and get the best 24 right when it mtters.

When Shuey went down his centre square rotations seemed to go to Sheed and Ah Chee, rather than Redden. Redden started nearly every bounce on a wing. Seems like a waste of his big body and his ball-winning and tackling abilities to me.
Exactly as I remember seeing it.

Don't recall Redden in and under even during normal stoppages unless they were in the back half. Saw him competing in the air in the defensive half more than usual and thought he might have even been playing as a HBF for a while, but it may have just been his opponent who he followed into d50 a lot.

And because he has shown a lot more than some senior players the past 2 or 3 weeks?

Did you watch Adelaide yesterday???

He was pure sh*te. One of the reasons they had 1.8, and he got worse from there.

Yep, Murphy out helps the Crows if anything. He is actually trash. Always good to lurk Crows changes thread with everyone calling for him to be dropped.

My preference on changes is

Out - Shuey (inj), Jones (Inj)
In - XON, Cameron

We have Sheed/Redden who can take Shuey's inside spot so I think XON debut makes way more sense than playing inside mids Ainsworth/Brayshaw. In that short intraclub video XON looked clean at least.

Cameron has to come in if fit. Impact of Jones has shown how helpful a pressure crumbing fwd is. Really don't want Petch near the team, has gone backwards.

Jetta is my favourite current eagle but our defence looked the best it had all year and I don't wnat defenders shoe horned onto the wing.

Who was playing the defensive winger with Brander out?

Gutted about Jones, he was looking good in that small fwd role.

Hopefully Cameron is fit enough now.

Not the end of the world.

Actually I seem to recall another small forward who injured his hammie after a couple of games. He went and got fitter, came back and we all know what happened next! :p

Jones showed he has potential and he should be even hungrier now after the experience.
