You fool, we have been paying 95% cap and have to pay 105% this year, even if williams and saad are 1.5mil that barely gets us to 100%
Also 95% of salary cap is $12,120,190.25, 105% of salary cap is $13,395.999.75. The difference is $1,275,809.

Now, Williams is rumoured to be on 850k

Saad on 650k (https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...s/news-story/a718f8d63d6b45dc1b7f6827c9ad2e9d)

That sums up to $1,500,000, which is more than the difference between 95% and 105%. And look you might tell me the retiring of Simpson, Kreuzer could more than offset the rookies you bring in, the rookie promotions, the money you have set aside to extend contracts with Walsh, Mckay, Weitering etc.

But the problem is - Carlton was ALREADY on 105% this year?? (https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/carlton-paying-105-per-cent-of-salary-cap-20200303-p546km.html). Sure if Jack Martin gets off his huge salary, and Carlton alleviates 700k from 105%, but then the whole from 95% to 105% cap theory becomes invalid, so how are you going to pay that extra 800k for Williams and Saad then?

Where is Carlton getting the money from? Cripps seeking a trade to WA confirmed?

Thankyou, the gross misunderstanding of what the actual salary cap is, how it works and how teams broker their salary cap is frustrating.

Williams and Saad I can see, adding another 800k+ for Oliver cant be possible. You are talking about adding approx 2.2m in salary cap sapce in one year, that is 17% of the cap in three players in one off-season. It would take some serious creative accounting to get that done

You do realise there was only 3 players on our list getting paid over 500k a year last year right? Jones is a RFA and he wouldn't be on more then 300k a year.

I'd wager our actual spend would be 8-9mil over the average of the contract and we have front loaded a huge amount of money. Even if I take your over inflated contracts for williams and saad still be easy 1.5mil left there to poach someone else.

Bigfooty .... the place where where people get told factual information. Skim over it then double down on their own narrative missing the point of everything they were just told.
If you can call posting 1 side of a story factual information sure lol, the only point of that post was to tell me how offended he would be if Oliver actually left for carlton it had no balance in it at all.

I'm sure he would be shattered as a Collingwood fan if Oliver left.

So assuming your "last year" means 2020:

1. Mitch Mcgovern - 800k
.

2. Jack Martin - $1 mil for 2020 & 2021 (which means my previous idea that Carlton DOESN'T EVEN get Martin coming off his huge contract, his $1 mil salary extends into 2021
.

3. Patrick Cripps (well obviously 500k+)

4. Marc Murphy (Apparently on similar salary as Pendles, Cripps, Danger, so 750 - 950k?)

5. Matthew Kreuzer (700k)

Should I continue or?... Took me like 2 minutes to factually prove that your information is completely wrong.

On the other hand, people think we have salary cap problems just because of Grundy, De Goey and Moore when Carlton is paying $1 mil to Martin, 800k to Mcgovern and 700k to Kreuzer... Point is, 3 players don't make up the entire salary cap, stop basing your opinion of our cap based on 3/44 contracts.

Right, so you think that you are bringing in Williams and Saad and still won’t be at the minimum spend threshold of 95% and have 1.5m to spend for next year still?

So assuming your "last year" means 2020:
What kind of * refers the the year we are in right now as last year?

If Kruezer and Murphy really are on 1.5mil put together as you say looks like we didn't even need to find cap space for Saad or Williams, that is without Simpson which given murphy was on 700-800k must have been on a mil easy.

Plenty of cash, dunno what you were worried about :thumbsu:.

What am I salty about? Rumours Oliver wants to go to Carlton. Or or am I salty about Carlton’s massive salary cap.
Can't hide your jealousy very well when you come out with the old brown paper bags gag, all that does is confirm the Carlton FC are living rent free in your head for your entire life.
