Would be ok with bringing in Scott, McNeil, Garcia or Wallis to replace Weightman if he's ruled out.

Feel like Scott would be the most bankable in terms of not stuffing up in a big game but the others are more likely to have some individual brilliance.

Unsure what's happening with Treloar but I'd give him another week to come good.

Biggest thing I see next week is if Young plays ruck and Tin fwd we fee smashed in ruck
English rucks and it frees up Alir
No way he pays Shack any respect
If Allir plays loose on Schache we would have to be good enough to use Shack. He doesn't need a lot of opportunities to burn Port bad if they don't man him

True, but it going to be a tough ask for someone to come in and play a dynamic small forward role. It takes a real confidence to walk in and say "I'm going to do this".

I just don't think Jj has it.

I think that west has that swagger. As long as he knows when to pass to teammates, he could be one out of the box!

I know JJ has been down this year but he's won a norm smith. He 100% has the swagger to stand up in a big game. He was good when subbed on too.

Bottom 6 a big worry.

VDM, Roarke and Hannan once again ineffective apart from rushed behind. Not best 22

12 possessions from a wingman and someone who turns it over 50% of the time should not be playing when better players are not.

Out VDM, ROARKE, Weightman
IN JJ, Garcia, Richards. Ed‘s pace is needed and is a far better player than Roarke. We also need fresh legs. God help us if we bring in Scott. Cannot carry also these so called role players. Who did Roarke play on, because that player had so much more influence. He freezes like a deer in a spotlight when his open in the fwd line. Twice in 2 weeks he cost us a shot for a goal.

Lewy gave it a crack all game, didn't drop his head.
There is literally no way Timmy halves the ruck contest without Lewy's effort.
Plus off the ball he ran the Big O around.
Don't trust me ask the supporters at the game
Between them they worked over the Big O and he was done in the last quarter Timmy was all over him for the most part. Port are different in they have 2 decent rucks, so we have to have support for Timmy or else he will be the one getting overrun in the last.
Just can't see Bevo bringing in Martin or Sweet so have to have Young stay in.

Wrong position...he just isn't a small forward and he's getting no time in the guts.
[/QUOTE]
Holding him back too have some fresher legs to go in the guts next week. To go all the way still have some tough games, to be able to inject a relatively fresh legs could be important.
Anyway thats the theory I am running with could well be wrong in Bevo we trust

If Cody is out, does it open the door again for Wallis? I’d say so. Bruce being out too, Wallis’ one v one strength and ability to compete becomes important. Leadership if Bont is gone, too.
The more I think about it, the more I convince myself it’s needed.

Id say it won't happen. He's competing for the same role as Hannan.

JJ and VDM will be the pressure forwards chosen if Cody misses.

Ins
JJ, Richards

Outs
Cody, Bont

Daniel to push into midfield. Richards replaces Daniel in the backline.

Ads has played a lot of time on the wing this year but didn’t play much there at all last night. Bevo has clearly opted for Roarke as a defensive winger while Baz spends a lot of time there as well, along with Hunter. He played exclusively as a small forward and was simply bad, and acted as if he was unhappy with his positioning on the ground. Dunks also spent more time in the guts compared with sitting at half forward like previous weeks.

Don't mind this if they are out/injured.

Adz can spend more time on ball too if Bont is out

Maybe I was watching a different game

-Roarke had some amazing defenseive plays in the last qtr, and happened to be in the right spot to mark in the last 15 seconds
-Vandermeer tackled well and kicked the last point of the game to put us in front
-Hannan kicked one and also won the ball and dished out the handball to B.Smith for what could have been the winning goal.

If anyone deserves to be dropped this week on form and effort its Treloar by the length of a country mile....

Maybe, he had 0 tackles below average pressure acts was lucky Caleb hit him. Could not see him playing a run with role, he panicked again in the fwd line when he had multiple opportunites to take the kick for goal. 12 possession at 58% in 83 % TOG is very poor when you play wing. If he was Lipinski, Richards he would be banished.
0 tackles, 12 possessions at 58% as a wingman is not acceptable at this level. Treloar was shocking but he can be a game changer and I was really disssponted in his game but you cannot drop him for another role player who offers nothing

Hope both play.
But if they don't. Hope Bev gets inventive.
Seeing Libba and Daniel before showing forward craft.l would use them more forward.
Treloar either plays midfield or wing as he can't play forward. It was like playing a man down.Richards is just better than Roarke plain and simple.
Reckon Cordy would be better in the ruck as well.He would give more body contact and muscle.Even the odd knee to soften them up..
Schache was too easily pushed off the ball last night ,although he did have his moments.Would Jamarra give us an edge?As he has lightning leads .
Very debatable but we DEFINITELY need to be inventive. And one thing about Bev he won't die wondering...

Roarke had 12 possessions, went at 33% by foot and was towelled up by mcluggage.
VDM ok
Hannan 8 touches, doesn’t do enough.
Agree on treloar.

I’d have Lipinski & Wallis in over Roarke & Hannan every day. Sweet or Martin must come in for Young. If bevo wants to make a statement then treloar for Richards. Would also swap Wood & Crozier.

We’ve got the depth and need to freshen up after a full season & now going into a third finals week on the road.

Not gonna think about the changes until Bont and Cody are ruled in/out.

But the match ups…

Wines - Dunkley
Boak - Macrae
Gray - Duryea
Fantasia - Williams

Pretty clear that Drew is gonna tag Liber again.

Also think we need to actually play someone on Aliir.

Sorry, but how do you define "an impact injury"? Is that a knock? Let me know Mutt. Thanks.
I think it means bruising or similar trauma rather than something structural.

One thing I loved was how Schache made a couple of fu** ups but didn’t let it get him down, kept fighting and competing and then had a great last quarter - in years gone by he’s dropping his head and sulking on the bench after a couple of errors
Think it is a bit of a combination of things for Schache, he didn't drop his head and was allowed some opportunity as Bevo didn't pull him from the ground the minute he made a mistake. He was also a lot stronger in the contest last night not easily brushed aside, sherperded the Lion's player so that I forget who kicked the goal could go through. He is starting to come on is the Shack meister

Was Smith's wobbler

I assume we'll get Bont up and he'll spend a little more time forward. Treloar and Baz may take a few extra centre square rotations.
Having that exra marking forward makes it easier to avoid Aliir
