The top 5

Gee Steele looks happy there doesn't he.

I usually get a very specific "vibe" when a player deadpans a B&F photo op and that particular sense is tingling almost off the charts right now as I'm looking at this photo.

Most ironic isn’t it, given that he usually has a smile from ear to ear.

Probably embarrassed to get an award. Really sums up our season when he places 5th in the Copeland.

How on god’s green earth was Sidebottom judged top five in our best and fairest
I did a predict in 76s thread and had Sidey coming 5th. He was always going to be in that range. B&Fs reward playing a lot of games. 22 average games will always finish in front of 14 good games.

Adams, Moore and Elliott were all destined to finish behind Sidey . I thought Pendles would to. None of the younger players were going to do as well as him. Who else was going to finish above him?

Steele has been a fantastic player, but this year he fell off a cliff, miles off the player he was in 2018. These votes really show that even in clubland midfielders dominate these awards. Roughie, IQ and Mayney all had better years

Steele’s season was as pedestrian and uninspiring as Josh Thomas’ year.

Roughead, Quaynor and Grundy all should’ve been ahead of him.

They were all pretty close vote wise. No one would blink if Sidey was 8th and just behind them or visa versa. He finished roughly where he deserved to

Surprised Jordy wasn’t in the top 3.

But Pendles lives in the top 3 at the Copeland. It’s insane how often he’s done it. Truly extraordinary.
Great effort but he tends to be marked a bit easier than others, Jordy had more impact over the season and Pendles missed 3 or 4 matches at the back end.

I missed it, watched later.

Would have preferred good old Brian Taylor host instead of Lica, seemed like a fish out of water.

I thought Licuria did alright? … nice to see somebody younger than the 1990 Premiership generation present for a change.

I wonder what would be a good solution to these things? Maybe have one of those new-Nathan-Buckley-Scholarship-thingy’s for one of our recently retired AFL / AFLW / netball players for them to spend a year with the media department. Have them host the Copeland. Keep it fresh.

I also think that the club could do a better job of having face-of-the-club ex-players to call on that span the generations. Have a couple ex-players they can call on for this stuff in their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s. Help keep things relatable. No supporter under the age of 35 had a poster of BT, Michael Christian or Tony Shaw on their bedroom wall growing up.
