Will the Tim Kelly trade go down as one of the worst ever ?

With the big difference being that we have rebuilt twice after premierships and won another each time… in that period you just mentioned…. Where other clubs have stagnated at the bottom we have a history of getting superstar premiership players out of late / rookie picks (dean cox, jeremy mcgovern,) taking our once every decade slide and grabbing a star and pushing back up for another tilt.

Yet another unintended bender comedy moment.

So much of your input to this forum is just a big long hanging drool dribbling out the mouth of a stupefied certified inmate.
And no doubt Carlton and Essendon supporters were saying the same thing too

All in the past, before there was 18 teams and a salary cap on coaching staff. You can't use your money the same way you use to and you have never ran your list this far into the ground before.

It's going to be interesting.
you can't imagine it because you have only experienced failure

and the eagles list is nowhere near as bad as freo supporters wish

A whole third?!
Maybe less.... Camporeale, Andrew McKay, Adrian Whitehead, Hogg and Sexton only names can think of from the national draft in that era and in that premiership team. The rest from past systems of zones , under 19's, club clearances and transfers from within league and interstate leagues , trades and pre-season or mid-season draft recycled types like Brad Pearce from Bears, Rice from Saints, Manton from Bombers or Clape from Eagles.
Five players from national draft would be about it out of the 21 premiership players on that day.

The only time we actually truly built a team from scratch in draft era is since 2015 via Weitering, Harry McKay, Charlie Curnow etc as the foundations.

Fair point. Priority picks for clubs down below a common thing in late 90's and early 2000's and less clubs in the draft. When you 1 club in 18 it a bit harder to continue to bounce back as quickly, if, you fall down...
Certainly interesting times ahead to see how Eagles cope in rest of this decade.

The fork is this sugar guys?

Carlton supporters talking smack? do something relevant first please.

Eagles aren't as inbred as Carlton. Cant see a decade of sugarness coming up. Thanks for humbling the purples though. Big XO

Who else is talking and needs a smackdown?

Why are you talking about Freo this thread is about a bunch of park footballers that reside at Lathlain.
Fun tit for tat with you WA types at each other.
First time Freo fans sense an era coming up where you will be able to push Eagles around regularly.
Be interesting to watch if Freo are up for it all decade.
Hopefully you weather the Mundy and Fyfe types veteran stage and exit well.
Need to keep building or Eagles claws may dig in later in decade.

nothing surer than the Eagles notching up their next flag before freo trouble the scorers

They might even get cocky and start the parity thread up again.

That worked out so great last time they buried it…..
