Martin and Grimes should retire imo.But yeah the obvious answer is Richmond by a landslide you'd think.

Cant enter a draft at pick 40 and say the rebuild has begun I feel.Nah we are already in a rebuild. The question would be the next team after us.
Martin and Grimes should retire imo.
Grimes for sure.Martin and Grimes should retire imo.
Some clubs are now in a position where a full rebuild is required, but as clubs like Sydney and Geelong have shown (and even teams like the Bulldogs and Giants to an extent), it's best to rebuild gradually on the run before it gets to that point.
Full rebuilds are painful and usually guarantee around 5 years of being a cellar dweller, or at least of not playing finals..
On top of that, if you don't nail most of your picks, it ain't gonna work, and it will take even longer, causing even more frustration for fans.
I think some clubs need to get more creative in their recruitment strategies, and use avenues like free agency more and scour the state leagues for mature talent to greater effect etc.
FA doesn't really work in AFL like other sports. Some clubs are now in a position where a full rebuild is required, but as clubs like Sydney and Geelong have shown (and even teams like the Bulldogs and Giants to an extent), it's best to rebuild gradually on the run before it gets to that point.

Next 5 teams that will have to rebuild and will be bottom 4 for some time.
1. Richmond
2. Adelaide
3. Collingwood
4. Port Adelaide
5. Melbourne
Richmond have a low pick coming rd.1 of this years draft. Two 2nd round, 3 x 3rd and 3 x 4th.Richmond feel like they are in year 0 of their rebuild, so this is the first year they will really hit the draft.
Finishing 13th and getting pick 40 is basically a disaster.
Collingwood statistically has the oldest list, therefore Carlton or Gold Coast will rebuild next for some reason.
Reid and Cadman should help.Depends I guess.
Do Geelong get to buy the best forward and best midfielder in the game again to prolong their time playing finals or do they have to go to the draft to find talent?
Ask any Adelaide supporter their midfield needs work and Nicks won't blood any youth.Adelaide ?
Can’t be for real. Will most likely nab a top 5 pick and Tyler Welsh on the cheap to add to a decent crop already
Crows current issues is the putrid output from the older players, something they know and trying to fix via free agency . The youth they have is very good

If we bunch and trade up or if someone like Baker goes home, then we'll get another good pick.
We should draft a good 6-7 kids inside pick 50 at the very least.
A quite a few older regulars are no longer best 22 and will be gone before too long, this season.
Our side will look a lot different rd.1 next year.
Nicks is the worst coach in the league. First aspect that needs work. KPP area definetly the strong point. I just think though they can continue on the current path without a rebuild. They have a ton of father/sons in the next few years so wont feel obliged to throw the baby out with the bath water because of it. Should wind up with 4 or so father/son players on the cheap along with first rounders + ton of salary cap room.Ask any Adelaide supporter their midfield needs work and Nicks won't blood any youth.
Reid and Cadman should help.
Yeah, I think the gist of this thread is the team who will need to navigate their way through the 2027+ national drafts, with their high picks compromised. But yeah the obvious answer is Richmond by a landslide you'd think.
Collingwood have a single top 10 pick under the age of 28 on their list.Next 5 teams that will have to rebuild and will be bottom 4 for some time.

N.Daicos.
Pendlebury, Sidebum, Howe, Cox and Mitchell hang them up over the next 18 months, they could very well plummet like a stone.
I'd say free agency makes more sense.Depends I guess.
