But like the Suns, the Demon’s midfield is their prime strength; and giving first use to the likes of Petracca, Oliver and Viney (despite being on the whole, poorer this year). That’s what Ryan would provide over a Blight type.

None of them are going to be superstars or match winners but what they are looking like are very important role players that will be essential to our next competitive tilt as a club

Hopefully we can see Sonsie finally find some of that confidence and I can’t wait to see Clarke back in the side

the trade off is Blight would get slightly less hitouts than Ryan but actually take marks down the line and go after the ball at ground level, not stop and jog from the second the ruck contest is over.

Also, only 11 disposals but went at 90%, had 5 marks and a few tackles. Building nicely.

Lynch’s leadership has been massive this year

No ruckman can match Gawn’s aerobic capacity and work ethic. He’s long been one of my favourite players and I loved how he turned up every week even when Melbourne were a joke. It’s a shame he played his career at such a lousy club.
