Moose, had a couple of announcement supporter goals that would constitute improvement:

Win more games that 2024 season ✔️
Left to go:
Improvement in Win / Loss percentage from 2024 by around 5%
A win over a top 8 side... If Dimmas Suntanned make it, it's a tick. I think there is scope for one more top eight scalp though.

Looks like we are well on the way as a rebuilding list.
Injury ruined us last season, we were no near as bad as many suggested and even losing the players we did, we got back about 5 x as many form injury.

They wouldn’t do it but I would go:

Out: Tresize
In: Short

Short to replace Green, Green to sub. Leave the backline as is.

Then eventually, hopefully form warrants:

Out: Short, Dow
In: Alger, Smillie

Tresize, MRJ, Dow, Short, Smith, Clarke, Sonsie trying to get in on form or injuries.

Clarke would be great to see back in but not sure how they are managing him. If he’s right to go then in for KMac on the wing.
I'm all in on Clarke, but needs another run and week(s) through the VFL.
really only played a game and a half.
Smith is ready.
out - short /Green
in - Trezise/smith
also want to see Gray back in!

Wot? That's the last thing we need.
had no issue trading out #1 draft pick matchwinning B n F winner Deledio to get in meatball plus side dishes, lol,i dont see what the whoohaaa is when trading out either taranto or hopper for the icing on lalor, smillie n co. or to get the established tall fwd, will be lifting cups again in no time. but not with hopper & taranto in the guts, not in 2028/29,one has to go by end of next season

Not surprised Baker copped most of the booing

he came off as a total flog to fans in his JDM speech and other media

Both snakes, both got booed

Beautiful part of our game
Actually its one of, if not the worst part of our game. People on this board especially turning on any player or coach that leaves the club is really pathetic. If they have given us a lot of years, helped bring us success and left us in a better spot then why are booing? They helped the club while they were here and helped it on the way out too.

Footy is a business. You'll beg for players to get dropped and delisted that you don't like but turn around have a breakdown if any of them leave. Can't have it both ways. It confuses me why you even watch footy. Richmond is just the people that make up the club, if you don't care for them, then why watch?

These guys gave a lot and helped bring us multiple flags which I'm sure celebrated plenty. Then you turn on them and show no appreciation for the happiness they brought you even though them leaving was good for the club too. Absolutely childish behaviour.

Honestly if you think they're snakes and deserve to get booed, then own it. Don't watch the 2017 GF ever again because you can't watch that 'snake' Graham kick his 3 gaols. But you won't. You'll still go back and get exited when he does because you're a hypocrite.

I think even looking at some individual improvements as well

Seth, Brown and Banks have all made great strides this season

Dow has improved

Ross, MRJ and Hugo look to be about par on last year

Few others that we didn’t really see enough of previously to make a call on but looking good are Trezise and Steeley

Still want to see a bank of games from Kmac2 to make a call either way but he’s also only entering his 2nd year so not sure if we will see huge leaps anyway, generally speaking 2nd year players can look a little stagnant or even appear to go backwards

Get off your high horse. They are both turncoats and deserve a boo (not that I do it myself). Not like they left to go to a strong club. Graham was trying to exit for 3 years FFS.

Kind of; he kicked our last goal, which put us in front, but then we lost the lead and Lynch got it back (with a behind)

Almost as bad as when players do low or bouncing kicks that get marked or touched on the goal line

All game, I was trying to work out why we looked better - no Short!
We were average against a poor side. Much better vs GC and Blues. Crap teams tend to drag you back to there levels look at Norf Lions.

Every supporter's boos players gone look at franklyn and the like.

the afl "experts" really got it wrong in the preseason, we have better top end experienced players than the eagles. we were always going to have a better season then them. they rely on kelly, baker and graham to win every week, just not realistic reliable option. we have lynch and vlaustuin as book ends and nank, taranto and hopper in the middle. that's a much better mix of experience. i said all pre season we were underestimated and they were overestimated and that's proven very true so far

I was hoping at least Prestia would be back by now, he'd be handy and make at least 3 of the next months games very winnable. It looks Prestia & Gibcus will be held back until after the bye, I'd love them to be fit for the WB, Ade & Geel clashes. 6/7 wins this season would be incredible.

Hey guys, does anyone know what is wrong with Jayden Short? Why was he a late out?

Hey guys, does anyone know what is wrong with Jayden Short? Why was he a late out?
Haven’t seen anything apart from on gameday they said a knee issue

No idea if that was just a hyper extension or something more serious
Hopefully we get some more clarity today or tomorrow

Having read this thread I am now convinced more than ever we are flag bound in just a few short years.....and why?

Because despite many pundits believing we'd be winless. And the 'odds makers' having our line at 2.5 x wins. And winning 2 x games last year and then losing 3 of our best 5 x players in the off-season (plus Dusty retiring). We are here on the back of a win and half our supporters are talking negatively about it and musing about how 'crap' we are....

So this has convinced me expectations are that nothing short of 2-3 x flags by 2029 won't be tolerated, as how....how on God's green earth has a our third win from just 9 x rounds in the first years of a full blown rebuild turned into something to be disappointed with?

I don't care if the Eagles aren't great. Or if McGovern was out. Or Allen. Or Yeo. Fact is we were marginally younger and less experienced than that Eagles team yesterday, so it was terrific to get the 4 x points in a game the Eagles were clearly treating as their Grand Final.

And the players that probably cause us the most concern in terms of 'quality' : Hugo, Dow, Green, Miller and Macca....almost certainly won't be part of our regular team from early 2026 onwards when we have any number of Gibcus, Clarke, Smillie, Hotton, Lefau, Armstrong, Alger plus 2 x top-5 picks from this years draft.

We are miles ahead of where anyone thought we'd be 10 x weeks ago. Even after the Carlton win the 'experts' were tempering it with 'Yeah, I still only expect them to win 2-3 x games'....and here we are - with a heap of elite youth still to come in.

How quickly we forget the way 2025 was 'supposed' to be played out for the Tigers.

There will be more thrashings and loads more disappointment in 2025, so enjoy every win!

who are our main competitors for reids signature ?

I think we could compensate the e girls the best out of any club and

theyll get farrk all if he leaves end of 2026
He'll sign with the Cats for half what anyone else is offering, and the Eagles will have to accept Geelong's second round selection (their first is already allocated for Butters), cos, you know, the Cats don't pay overs... Nothing fishy going on here...

It is a bugger there was no VFL over the weekend but it is possible Clarke has done simulated fitness work. While match fitness is best, it is possible to replicate a lot of what is required and still build on previous weeks. Remember they were already heavily conditioned before returning from the ACL which is why Clarke was able to run out the second VFL game.

I doubt we will pick him but I think we should.

i think it was mentioned that it happened during last game and was carrying it during the week, and it flared up the day before the game or day of, and i think yze mentioned it would only keep him out a week, but who knows if it'll be 1 more

don't think it will start this weekend vs nth but will in coming weeks. giving faull and Trainor a week off etc. they have already given lalor one. it's a long season for young bodies. plus match committee will be wanting to get games into some others on the list. balta will give grey/blight a few games. also probably want to get games into smilie, Alger + Clarke. also le fau, hotton and Armstrong when available (maybe gibcus, hope so). just goes to show the development in brown, Campbell, banks once they get closer to 50 games. and the brilliant thing is we will get 2 top picks this year and a couple others thru father/son, academy.

was at the game yesterday and it felt (without watching the replay) that the result wasn't the most important thing for the coaches b/c at times they really let some of the youngsters take responsibility and for the most part they did really well. it's not something they could do vs the stronger teams but was good to see and will probably see some more this weekend.
Trainor has had a week off already and then was Sub for the Gold Coast game (the one he looked filthy he wasnt injected into the game earlier).

I think Lalor could have a week off against North and then bring him back for the Dreamtime match. He could use a week off since he hasnt really had a preseason so we should be a little careful with him.

I think we should give Kmac 2 a full game in the middle and maybe give Sonsie a go in the middle as well at the AFL to see if he can do it, or try and pump his value.

Evolutionary Psychology would hard disagree with you. Sport is tribalism, possibly the last socially accepted version of it. They left the tribe and are now actively working against our tribe.

You talk about Footy being a business but then talk a lot about sentimentality which is rather antithetical to business mentality.
