It appears Rioli has certainly experienced racism throughout his life and that likely contributes to his state of mind in certain situations. I’m sure the online backlash he received recently was horrific. I couldn’t imagine how that must feel.

Port are either reckless or indifferent to the fact that merging Rioli’s experiences with racism with his threats to other players tars the people Rioli has lashed out as racists. If the people they’re tarring with these vague assertions are innocent of it, they’re going to want their names cleared.

If a Bulldogs (or Bombers or Cats) player said something racist, they should be held accountable and punished. Port must make that complaint to the AFL and be specific about what was said and by whom. Instead of what they have done to date, which is cast a shadow over the entire playing lists of three separate AFL clubs that have players that have received Rioli’s threats, which until they act appropriately seems to be an exercise in deflection and justification without any concern for the consequences for the other clubs and their players.

The AFL Sat down and interviewed Willie. Don't you think he would of said something? Wouldn't you think that would hold some merit in this situation? Something said that was so vile it caused Willie to send a text message to another Indiginous player at the Western Bulldogs to pass on a physical threatening message to Dale?

I mean Tanya Hosch has reportedly just refused to travel to Darwin for the games up there, which are a celebration of Indigenous people in our game. Thats the AFL's most senior Indigenous Representative. And her reason was because the AFL administration isn't listening to her and she didn't want to be a part of their empty virtue signalling.

No, it hasn't happened twice in the past. In the past Rioli has been involving in some on field sledging. The Essendon players considered his comments a massive joke.

And the Geelong players, well Brad Close ran the length of the field to get in Rioli's face and sledge him, and Rioli bit back. The Geelong players then reacted like Glenn McGrath did when Ramnaresh Sarwan sledged back with a comment about his wife.

no it's not. the only link I could possibly see is that he's copped sledges about turtle meat in the past in relation to being fat - dale calls him fat two weeks ago.. rioli doesn't like it. Port invoke something that was said to Rioli 2 years ago and link it to the comment Dale made. trying very, very hard to find some link/justification to make Willie the victim.
