Just watching and rewatching Nash's hit on Daicos at the 16.30 min mark first quarter. Wow picked up and thrown down. What an Irish beast. This is us!
Agree, great tackle, hope they have the vision from another angle cause it's brutal.

Just checked the stats and Jarman Impey played a huge game.

25 disposals
3 goal assists
494m gained
8 marks

Under rated player!
Honestly I thought he was close to BOG. Didn't need the stats for that but good to know.

The channel 7 commentary team were excellent discussing this tackle.
Two things:
  • he releases him half way down, thus avoiding an impact injury
  • years ago, players would have driven him into the ground, but empathy and consideration for his opponent was shown.

We've beaten the top two sides on the ladder and we have a chance to beat the third side in a couple of weeks.
Collingwood and Brisbane were the only top 8 sides to really get on top of us too. All the others were close.

Port beat us convincingly too. But if we beat Brisbane we should feel confident that we have beaten or challenged every other side in the top 8.

Also, happy to be corrected, but I'm certain that once again a commentator (this time Montagna) said 'they've now beaten GWS and Collingwood in games against top 8 sides'.

Completely ignoring the wins over Adelaide and the Bulldogs?
I mean, we have beaten GWS and Collingwood. We've just beaten a few others too.

The chubby Italian is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct.

If we didn’t drop the 3 games against Crom, Suns & Dorkers where we were up at 3QT we would be 2 games clear at the top of the ladder 🪜
Throw in the cats game as well where it was scores level halfway through the last.

Only needed two wins and a top 4 position would have been pretty much assured all while not playing our best footy in those games.

Beat the dees and lions and a top 4 position is still possible with other results going our way

I don't know if anyone noticed but a big tribute to our medical team as Tommy B played his 20th game of the season.

Why the big deal? - that's the most games in a season he's ever played!

After all the injury concerns when he signed, that's a hell of an achievement by our conditioning / medical guru's

Having TB fit and firing for finals is one heck of an advantage over out finals run last year.

The season, once again, is in our hands after last nights truly amazing win.

This could be our year after all.

GO HAWKS!

Whilst our form has been solid overall in 2025, this feels like our first real convincing win of the season. If we can somehow make Top 4, or avoid Fremantle in week one, we have the talent to do better than last season. We are still one a-grader short in the midfield, which may ultimately be our undoing…

Meek is definitely captaincy material, & watching Dear take those marks is a thing of beauty. (Battle may have to hand over the # 24 guernsey!)
From early in the season I got the sense that Mitchell was focusing on the development of alternative playing styles and strategies, rather than one optimal playing approach.

I get a similar impression to you that it has only been very recently that we have started returning to the methods that made us so strong at the end of 2024.

Is there also a bit of foxing going on? Hiding our strongest form from opposition scrutiny? Think about how much talk there was at the end of last season, saying that clubs would be studying the Hawks.

Whatever has been going on, the boys are peaking just at the right time... ;)
