Matters nought but why wasn’t Neil bullpens a goal? Didn’t it come off below his knee?

No, it came off the knee onto a Collingwood player's back and then ANB failed to touch it on the line. The extensive replay on TV showed it clearly wasn't a goal

Bit of a worry when you hear nicks say we won stoppage around the ground therefore the midfield was not the main issue.

The midfield got destroyed in open play. Also the stoppages Collingwood won were effective as they ran it out with handball. Our mids win stoppage and slam it down a Collingwood players throat. I do agree sometimes it’s the forwards fault for not competing harder in the air

Chuck the stats sheet out nicksy, it’s blinding you to the true fact of the main issue

Reckon he got spooked from the clearance loss last time and became reactionary this week

Did anyone notice Dawson freeze at the coin toss? Didn't even realise he'd won the toss and just didn't do anything. I was thinking gee he looks nervous.

Probably his worst game for the club.

That brought back 2017 GF vibes where we couldn't handle the pressure.

I've been waiting for that collingwood to show up in finals. There it is.

If that's what we're gonna put up against the best at home, hard to see us being a threat this year.
Let’s just go with the fact that they’ll hopefully be better off for the experience - Lions won it the hard way last year. Hoping that Murray Davis will impart his wisdom on how this can be done.

According to the Fox commentary, the first quarter had the largest single quarter pressure discrepancy ever recorded in a final

In Collingwood's favor of course
There have been plenty of times this year where at the start of the first and third quarters, we come out so flat.

What the hell is Nicks doing that we are so slow out of the blocks

The problem is people are going to clap us for some worthless semi final performance and honourable prelim loss like we didn't roll belly up and concede a premiership tonight.

There is nothing that can happen for 12 months that will make up for this. the playing group should be ashamed.
We were never in the top 3 best sides this year. Basically we were a genuine 4th playing a genuine number 1.

Good : We found out who the finals spuds are with the free hit!

Changes :
Out- Keays, Cumming, Smith, Hinge, Murray.
In - Rachele, Dowling, Cook, Draper, Butts

Ugly: Doing the same thing again and expecting a different result.

You don't make chocolate cake with spud!

I think that's a little bit extreme. They booed because the media driven circus told us that Moore and Quaynor were the ones behind Rankine being suspended. We can also disagree with what Rankine said though.

It's footy. Booing happens for an array of reasons.
Yeah I suspect people mostly don't like what they viewed as the "dobbing" aspect of it, particularly when Collingwood knew they would probably play us in finals, would have known that Rankine would be suspended and that it would give them a competitive advantage if they dobbed him in. Nobody likes a dobber. But that thinking is also a bit conspiracy theory and downplays the impact of what was said. Community attitudes have changed but a lot of our crowd skews older.

I think the whole episode is more nuanced than the media narrative. But Rankine did the crime and he's doing the time. It's a heavy penalty. Now that Collingwood are out of the way I hope the media stops crucifying him. He needs to be able to move on and so does the club.

There are bigger fish to fry.

We have to lean into the villain angle now. The media will give us nothing and neither will any away crowds

We were absolutely about to ride a Rory Laird midfield to the premiership.

What the **** are people on?

The people applauding the Laird move to the midfield is truly bizarre.

McCrae couldn't wipe the grin off his face when he saw that, he couldn't of scripted it any better for his gameplan of having Moore loose in defense mopping up our midfields HIGH ball into our f50.

Talk about Nicks playing right into McCraes hand, and then Keays went in there too - that was when McCrae was seen rolling around on the floor.

I dont know whats worse, the people applauding it, or the fact that he gave more than the others did.

Maybe the Adelaide media will stop blowing smoke up our arses. The players had a wakeup call.

Brainfades cost us. Despite playing poorly in general, if there was composure we were a chance to jag it.

Fog not taking the shot. Even if he misses we try to apply fwd half pressure.

Thilthorpe the same with the Keyes handball.

Thilthorpe centreing the ball into an intercept mark.

Thilthorpe not taking his full 50m.

The play-on straight after.

Regroup and learn from this.
The OOF in our D50.

Even with some general scrappy fumbly poor play, composure or lack thereof was the nail in the coffin.

The pathetic crap around Walkers son being obsessed with Daicos can end now as well. If we somehow make it to a GF and end up playing them again, I don't want a bar of that shit.

Was probably cute the first couple of games they went on about it/showed him in a Pies jumper.

But yeh if we happen to get to the GF and play the Pies Tex needs to grow a pair and tell his lad he can stay at home if he wants to wear a Collingwood jumper in the changerooms on grand final day.

I think we're better off letting it go and moving on. There's no point looking back, getting stuck on this and playing the victim. The club and its supporters have done that for too long. It's always the umpire's fault or we got unlucky or there was some sort of conspiracy.

We've got to start acting like winners if we want to win anything.
