Since 1980, only one team has finished on top of the ladder at the end of the Home & Away rounds (minor Premier) and gone out in straights sets:
1983: North Melbourne.

It doesn't affect the likelihood of either team winning though. It's a historical quirk.
For starters only the current finals system is relevant. Sure it's unlikely the team in 1st loses 2 home finals in a row, but maybe Adelaide are the worst top of the table team this century (simple win/loss or % can't determine that) and/or Collingwood (4th) + Hawthorn (8th) were the toughest set of opponents 1st has faced in that time.
It is pretty likely Adelaide are one of the least, if not THE least finals experienced teams that finished 1st this century.

Crows were appalling last week but still in the game with five minutes left, and if Thilthorpe didn't commit that error, reckon it would have gone down to the wire.

Last week was our only loss above 20 points for the season too, doesn’t seem a super smart bet to think this will be more than 2-3 goals in it

Good luck to the Crows tonight, a massive flogging would be much appreciated.
Expecting it to be close but finals can blow out if a team rolls the dice late to try and win if they get a few goals behind.
Expecting a loss hoping for a win.

Hawks just look too dangerous I50. A slower crows midfield also helps their cause. It will be contested but just too much firepower.

Some close games though including this year. And in a prelim with plenty of nerves on both sides anything can happen.
Interesting to think how both teams have evolved since Easter Monday. Sicily and Stewart were both severely hampered - basically liabilities - but have bounced back to be close to their best at the right time of year.

If both sides are at 100% I imagine we lose.
If we can keep Dawson quiet and Barras and Battle keep their talls quiet we win.
