Review Semi final vs Hawthorn - Ugly, Historically Embarrassing and Pathetic

Not gonna sink the boots on the crows.

I don't think Nicks is a bad coach. Although I see similar vibes when the crows had Brenton Sanderson from 2012 to 2014.

Crows didn't play finals from 2018 to 2024.

But saying that, Richmond had a similar situation at one point too.

Tigers didn't make finals from 2002 to 2012. Tigers made 3 Elim finals from 2013 to 2015 before that 2017 flag.

I still think Richmond should of won at least 1 Elim final from 2013 to 2015. Should of been 2013 Elim final vs Carlton or 2015 Elim final vs North Melbourne.
If you read my first post I wasn't laying the boots in at all. I did reference Richmond losing 3 elimination finals in a row as sometimes you have to go through a bit of pain before seeing success.

We had opportunities to get games into kids, but we blew them on Murphy and Smith.
Was obvious to nearly all of us.

Nicks refused to develop depth.

Cornes - the finals will hold the Crows in good stead? How so, if we couldn't even win 1 out of 8 quarters & Nicks still has nfi what to do.

In theory it should be a good thing.

But I've got my doubts it will be.
Nicks showed us last night he learnt nothijg from our 1st final... so why would it be any different for our next final!

I'm going to take a break from negativity and say that I still think it's nuts that Rachele was able to be as effective as he was.

It was very intelligent play with almost no sideways or rotational mobility, he just placed himself in the right spot where running in a straight line could be effective.

I was disappointed with the ground announcer or the boundary talking heads not to mention he was coming on

Needed to bring the crowd into it and we didn't

I didn't find your post offensive and I knew you were laying the boots on no one.

I agree about going through some pain before seeing some success .

Classic example was Freo from 2003 to 2006. Dockers slowly built up the squad from 1995 to 2002.

Made finals in 2003. Lost to Essendon. That was Essendons 2nd to last finals win. They would. Beat the demons in 2004 and that's their last finals win.

Dockers narrowly misses out on finals in 2004-5.

Dockers then made preliminary final in 2006. Lost to crows in the qualifying final, then won the semi final vs the demons then lost the prelim final vs Sydney

IF reputations are made in finals…
THEN only two players enhanced theirs: Worrell and Laird.
2 outta 24 players…can’t pin this on Nicks, despite his faults, this is a playing group failure
It only hurts because the crows finished top and got out in straight sets.

Would you of been happier crows getting 5th or 6th, smashed a side in a home Elim final Line the crows did In 2016 vs North Melbourne and lost in an away semi final?

I probably would. But you know as well as I do, this crows side has upside. The better players in this squad like Tilthorpe, Dawson, Rankine are all in their mid 20s. None of them are 30 years old.

I expect a similar run to the Neil Craig coaching era of 2005 to 2009

Probably would have been better off dropping Smith, giving Michaelanney license to attack and Bond the chance to redeem himself after Elliott got hold of him last week.

I’m already frustrated watching this suns game. Suns look amazing.
Noah Anderson, so much polish. ROWELL??? Who does that for us.
We are just lacking so much, not sure how we were minor premiers.

In saying that, I am very proud of the boys. We are growing but just lacking so much. I am not always this negative 🤣

Soligo has started falling over in almost every contest

We’ll find out that he’s had a hip or groin tidy up at some point. We ended up doing exactly what Pyke did. Arrive at September with a run down preferred 23, including injured players and a deliberately narrowed selectable squad.

And we’ll do the exact same again next year.

Hate to sink the boots in....

2016 crows could of got Sam Powell Pepper over Jordan Galluci.

2018 , Zak Butters or even Xavier Duursma was available.

2019, crows used that cursed pick 6 on Caleb Serong or Hayden Young. Crows chose Fisher Mcasey
Could have had Noah Anderson
