Mega Thread Nick Daicos - Can he be the GTWEB? Part 2

Any thoughts on Nick Daicos finishing top 4 in EVERY major individual award over the past 3 seasons, voted by umpires, players and coaches alike, during which time Collingwood have won a flag, finished 4th, and finished 9th?

I thought not.
Gonna be a long summer for Meowbagger after his team's pansy GF "effort", gonna be lashing out left right and centre to try to ease the pain of humiliation

You're at 6s and 7s Walshy.

In another thread you're ridiculing Perryman finishing high in the Copeland, but in this thread you seem to be suggesting that the voting system is great and shouldn't be reviewed.

Personally, I quite like that the voting system produces results more akin to a best onfield clubman award than the standard most impactful player award that all the other awards are.
I'm absolutely rapt that Cameron won it after a pretty good season in the ruck

Plenty of other awards out there for the mids to win

I've already stated that Daicos finishing 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the "Real MVP" award you let me judge, is a hell of an effort. I've already predicted he pops his cherry and gets a 1st in 2026. Stop being so miserable.

Nick Daicos is the best umpire the game has ever seen.
His decision making is awesome and he sees the game more quickly and clearly than anyone we've seen before - so you're right, he probably would be if he ever decided to don the fluoros.

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that he would never play a GF as shit as Dangerfield (twice) either 😂
It's astounding, isn't it?

Daicos has played 4 x finals since his rookie season - all Major Finals (Qualifying, 2 x Preliminary, Grand Final), and in his WORST game - the only game in which he didn't receive coaches votes - he had 27 possessions and the PlAyEr RaTiNgZ algorithm gave him a lazy 26.3.

And he's getting bagged in this thread for his 'lacklustre finals record'.

Oh boy.

14 coaches votes in 7 finals is a great effort. Winning a BnF in a non finals season is also a great effort. Why you get so defensive over these things is baffling.

I don't care

He's rated miles above anyone else, unfortunately Brisbane are an awesome team and took over the game

At least he stood up while the Geelong pea hearts went to water pretty quickly the next week
Wait, Dangerfield had twice as many coaches votes as Daicos this finals series despite being a 44 year old forward pocket? Yikes.

Where have I suggested changing the voting system? Its your pathetic simp coach who's suggesting it to appease his favourite golden boy.

How many coaches votes in that GF? Better than the average of Daicos in GFs?

Truth is Danger crapped his pants, and not for the first time

You would NEVER see Daicos play a final as disgracefully as that

Danger just lucky his team was on the soft side of the draw.
Courtesy of the opportunity to play the 8th ranked team.

Meanwhile, the Pies played the top ranked team interstate, and the eventual premiers.

How many votes did Danger get in his two chances against the eventual premiers?

Oops. Average possessions 14.5 (and many of those possessions VERY average), and average PlAyEr RaTiNg of 7.65.

Dangerfield had twice as many coaches votes in the 2025 prelim as Daicos best ever finals effort (pre grand final weighting adjustment). As an old man.

Daicos best final so far has been against the worst top 4 side of the 21st century (Adelaide). 3rd BOG and 5 coaches votes.

Yeah.

The players who sit in team meetings week in, week out, and spend more time talking about their plan for Nick Daicos than they do for any other player in the comp.... don't know what they are talking about.

If Rowell was so much better than Daicos in 2025, you would have won a heap of money on him for the Brownlow, right?

How could Daicos be paying $2.5, and Rowell $8 at the start of the night if Rowell was so much better than him?

But it is good that you blokes have found another player who is allegedly better than Daicos, at least for the next 5 minutes.

After Sheezel, Callaghan, Darcy, Heeney, etc....
There's a media fascination with talking up everything Naicos does that's often not remotely tied to reality.... his finishing in front of goal is a perfect example. He's just a highly skilled, deadly finisher....right......

Players to kick 10+ goals - rating taking into account difficulty of all shots taken:

In 2025: 94th of 179.

In 2024: 96th of 175.

In 2023: 121st of 177.

This is not what the meeeddddyyyyaaaaa tell us. He's deadly in front of goal....isn't he? Commentators tell us this every time he kicks a goal.

"Worst top 4 side of the 21st century" 😆

They were going just fine until they met the mighty Pies in the finals

Daics had a blinder along with most of our team

What was Danger's best final in HIS first 4 years? 🤔
