This all but confirms Nicky's AFLCA 2024 win as fraudulent. McRae clearly willing to compromise any awards integrity for the sake of his golden boy.

Yes, couldn’t agree more.

Nick Daicos is a star of the competition. One of the best starts to a career in history. Exciting and scrupulously fair.

And seems a genuinely great person.

Yet, many non Collingwood supporters hate him. I have always loved watching the best players no matter what team they played for.

But the media obsession and sites like this one contribute to people disliking Daicos because the adulation is way out of control.

the 2-3 Collingwood supporters who post daily on this site can’t understand the hate for Daicos but if they checked their ego for a second, they would understand their ridiculousness contributes significantly to that hate. (And worse still openly troll people to get a reaction and then brag about the success of the site, just weird)

I think Dusty was pretty much universally loved by all but Geelong fans tbh. I loved watching the great man in action.

Then again he didn't flop and dive every chance he got like Nicky so I can understand the difference in neutral support.

Have you not seen him constantly throw his head back, stage for free kicks, appeal/whinge to the umps? He's one of the main offenders in the league at playing for frees.

I think what doesn't help is some of the soft frees and apparently individualised treatment he gets.

For example, umpires stopping an entire game when he was winded for about 15 seconds. On the other hand, umpires call play on after Sniper Stewart knocks out Meatball.

Although there are soft frees every week and we likely see more replays of Naicos, but they do appears to be consistently there.

Any thoughts on Nick Daicos finishing top 4 in EVERY major individual award over the past 3 seasons, voted by umpires, players and coaches alike, during which time Collingwood have won a flag, finished 4th, and finished 9th?

You're at 6s and 7s Walshy.

In another thread you're ridiculing Perryman finishing high in the Copeland, but in this thread you seem to be suggesting that the voting system is great and shouldn't be reviewed.

Personally, I quite like that the voting system produces results more akin to a best onfield clubman award than the standard most impactful player award that all the other awards are.
