2 picks and a player? Sign me up!

I'm sure Carlton will hate it, but it seems like that's the best offer they'll get. So it just becomes a debate for them about how much they want to hold a player who doesn't want to be there.

Thats what i would offer but it may be less than geelong offer and thats fine.

we are bidding against carlton, geelong and curnow it seems so unless our offer is substantially better than geelongs i suspect curnow himself wont take it

and thats fine by me. Theres a lot of desperate people on this site.
I thought the same until I saw this from a mate:

Will Hayward:
2024 Grand Final - 1 Goal and a total of 6 disposals at 50% efficiency.

2022 Grand Final - 1 Goal, 1 tackle and 11 disposals.
Yes it’s terrible that the high half forward gets few possession. Remind how buddy went ?

I hope the deal involves 3 of the 4 bargaining chips with Hayward the ace up the sleeve in place of the future F1. If Carlton get greedy.

2 + 2 is overpaying imo.
Agreed, at least hold it in the back pocket until last few hours of trade period.

I reckon Blues want rid of him too, this is where the Poker starts. Let’s see how we go.

We are potentially giving up 2 of our best 22.

They aren't in the best 22 we need to win a flag, they've had their chances and choked.

I think Cox is on the money, too many have been complacent and just looked disinterested at times.

Charlie looked good when Blues were up and about. We have an arguable better midfield for delivery.

McDonald will hopefully have a break out year and with Paps and others floating in the forward line we look way more dangerous and flexible.

It's a tough business and that's why they get paid the big bucks

Completely different player
But that's completely fine, in any case. People on here are too determined that we need to replace one player with another with similar attributes. It's also completely fine to replace one forward with certain strengths with another forward with different strengths – it's how the forwards work as a collective that's important.

It's not like Heeney going into the midfield was a like-for-like swap of any of our midfielders, yet he's comfortably our best midfielder now. Granted, he's also our best forward.
