I think so if they fall a bit later/to the rookie draftQuestion, may of already been answered, have we got enough draft points to pick up our academy kids?
Subjective though, my opinion (and the list management team’s as well) is that our midfield is already good enough and we needed to improve the forward line and backline.Because Tim Kelly didn't add anything to help with the Eagles problems and Cameron did help with issues the Cats were having
Our biggest issue (midfield) wasn't addressed this off-season. Our second issue was (KPD)
And that's fair. Time will tell and I do hope I am wrong. It is just with every big loss we have, it tends to be a midfield collapse that caused itSubjective though, my opinion (and the list management team’s as well) is that our midfield is already good enough and we needed to improve the forward line and backline.

Provided we don’t just bomb it to Charlie, like we did with Buddy. So many different opinions so here’s my take.
Great we got Charlie but concerned of what we gave away to get him but if you are targeting a key forward who has won Coleman medals and is contracted then you have to pay big- and we have.
On the flip side CC will take the best defender, this is an opportunity for Amartey & McDonald to stand up too. If the midfield can get on top and deliver the ball down forward it’s gonna be good to watch.
Rosas is a handy pickup, won’t replace Hayward different type but could be good around goals. Serong could be anything but the fact is the most senior games he has played in a season is 5 and coming from the VFL is a step up. He can play but let’s not expect too much of him at first but he might surprise.
I am not too fussed about draft picks because let’s face it, it’s a lottery. As long as we can bring some Academy kids in.
Overall it’s a massive gamble the club has made but I guess we have to place our faith in the recruiting team and the coach, they are far more across what is happening or the machinations than we are.
One thing I will say it’s not only players contracts that can be broken. Now we supposedly got the big fish we wanted and the playing list is still very good nothing less than an improvement on last season i.e finals pref top 4 and certainly aim for a GF on the next couple of years. If we go backwards there could be a cleanout and it won’t necessarily be players. Cox will have his contract torn up.
I'm not sure why everyone is so big on Rosas. Averages around 2 tackles a game, less than one goal over a 5 year career. He comes to us with less on his CV than Sam Grey or Lewis Taylor. I've got him in my watch category, definitely not best 23 until I see some evidence he can play.Curnow
Logan
Amartey
Papley
Rosas
Campbell
Is a dangerous forward line
You could also add contested marking. We were completely deficient.Pretty sure last season's stats put us above average for clearances but below average for converting I50 entries.
Having said that, we can get bullied in the middle when up against big bodies.
This may be the most profound thing I've ever read on BF.Fair to say that after laping up Longmires spiel after the 22GF loss Swans leadership have been primed for action after the 24 GF debacle.
.
DC, Cameron & co have made their moves and good on them, let's see how it goes. There was a lot of back slapping post buddy signing which didn't land the big cup so head down and go to work lads. Sometimes close calls from foxes at night brings on lots of egg laying so hopefully all the action sends the message...look forward to an improved death stare from Rowbottom and a great 26..serong going to be good for us. Curnow can at least take a mark..
Kinda the same as Bobby Hill...I'm not sure why everyone is so big on Rosas. Averages around 2 tackles a game, less than one goal over a 5 year career. He comes to us with less on his CV than Sam Grey or Lewis Taylor. I've got him in my watch category, definitely not best 23 until I see some evidence he can play.
Or it might be our Tom Lynch moment. The only thing that could make it worse is if JUH comes good for the Suns
Because we won't be able to trade for whoever he pushes out either.
So we're stuck with this, with zero first rounders and a full to the brim salary cap
This might just be our Tim Kelly moment
The last second thinking of adding 2027 F1 for basically #31 and FF2 could be a massive win for Sydney long term and a headline new article for Carlton in the short termI know it will always be 'Sydney paid three 1st round picks for Curnow', but the 2027 pick really needs to be considered as a separate transaction.
If bids for King and Carmichael, and maybe Kyle, all come inside 30, we were always going to have to trade something decent out to get the extra points.
Three firsts and Hayward is such a reductive summary, I agree.I know it will always be 'Sydney paid three 1st round picks for Curnow', but the 2027 pick really needs to be considered as a separate transaction.
If bids for King and Carmichael, and maybe Kyle, all come inside 30, we were always going to have to trade something decent out to get the extra points.
Midfield got smashed in the two GFs.I hope for Rowbottom getting shopped around is a bit of a kick up the ass that lights a bit of a fire in him. Something similar happened to Jude if I recall.
Rowbottom is someone from what he showed when first came into the comp, I probably expected him to be better than he is, not saying he's a bad player or not in the best 23 or anything like that, but I think there's a better player in there somewhere. He's a guy that should/could be a consistent B+ level. Right now like too many on the list his gap between his best and worst fluctuates too much.
Love that he had the attitude of '**** off im staying' though.
I wonder if there is any correlation between the AFL integrity unit sniffing around Geelong and them not being able to do what seemed like a simple deal for Marshall?
He'll probably miss & listed as "managed".Get ready for opening round next year - Swans vs Blues
How many can Curnow kick against his old club.
If his best is even 75% as good as peak Bobby Hill, then we will have nabbed ourselves a bargain, especially if it comes without the baggage.Kinda the same as Bobby Hill...
Buddy went alrightProvided we don’t just bomb it to Charlie, like we did with Buddy.
Now it is up to the forwards coach to sort the patterns, and for the mids to scan.
Question, may of already been answered, have we got enough draft points to pick up our academy kids?
