Good result when you consider channel 7's AO coverage is already bad enough with Bruce, Hamish and Basil without seeing Alexander return to his old gig.

In all seriousness this result is about what should be expected in this kind of seat for while the government might be ordinary but these kind of communities are doing okay and usually lend Liberal.

Antony Green has called it a Tory win. Around a 6% swing to Labor. Considering the Tories had a mediocre candidate they should be reasonably pleased with that outcome.
My, admittedly perfunctory, reading of it was that Alexander was a well-regarded local member, who managed to garner significant federal funds for projects within the electorate.

No surprise, ALP put a candidate with a dodgy record who will now be gifted a job in the senate and killed their chances by making it clear they don't care about security when minority group voted are up for grabs.

The ALP threw a candidate of some profile at the seat. Given the current sentiment towards this government the LNP would be happy just to win.

Made a reasonable profile for himself with his stance on housing affordability. Not a high flier but generally more likeable than your standard politician.
