Dont care what betting agencys say this game will be close we have a couple missing but they have a few and Jones, Viney and Melkshem are under done we have 22 fit players keen to fire. It will go either way

Hinkley has to much to lose he will throw anything at his disposal to save his job.[/
Carn. So putting a player at risk out there is a ploy to save his Job? That comment really makes no sense.

Two extra players under 25.

We’ve gone from 10 players to 15 under 21 because we hit the draft this off season. Nothing we can do about that.

It’s not a rebuild. It’s just a build.

Explain to me the difference. If its a build and we have done it before then it is a rebuild by definition isn't it? This is not our inaugural team.

Its like saying we are wiring not rewiring. If there is wire already there you are ****ing rewiring no way around it.

Pleased we've picked a bunch of newbies. I need firing up, and nothing gets me going like untried talent. In a coupla weeks time of course, they too shall be revealed as a mixed bag of spuds and studs. But for now, it's all blue sky baby.

He gets paid no matter if he does a good or bad job, or gets fired early or rides the rest of his deal out.

To me if you're "rebuilding" your not in the run for finals i think we certainly are.

Without going into too much detail here we've refreshed the list no doubt hoping for an immediate impact from the young guys and as they are all playing round 1 looks like we'll get that. What we need is the 'older guys' (but still young) , Bonner, SPP, Houston, Marshall, Howardm Burton (even add in Drew and Atley here ) to take a step up and no decline from Ryder, Westhoff, Robbie and finally guys Boak and Rockliff back to their best (or close to) and we're really in the hunt.

If we hadn't bought those young guys in when our senior guys retired in a year or two then we'd be rebuilding. Id describe what we've done as a refresh, three first rounders who look like they'll play a reasonable amount of quality footy from what we've seen in the JLT and some senior guys in Burton and Lcyett who are best 22 and a depth player in Mayes.

Add in some of the FS selections we have coming (and apparently Pickett is NGA alligned to us ?) and we look to have managed bringing in young talent well to avoid the need for a full rebuild.

Port's been crap for years so my feelings of confidence aren't based on anything rational.

The reason for this is because it's been nearly 7 months since we last tasted defeat. Nearly 7 months since our hopes and dreams went up in smoke for the umpteenth time. So hope springs eternal.

I'm a realist. In all likelihood, Saturday will bring a jolting reminder of exactly where we're at. But until then, one can dream.

The thing about the new kids is that they have some X factor. They are ultra competitive but also have speed and disposal skills. Butters for example, seems to know how to be at the drop of the ball in the forward line. A lot like Robbie Gray. Means he's smart and always thinking. When was the least time were had a natural crumber? Rozzee has the marking skills and looks confident in front of goals. Duursma is aggressive, has speed and has a good disposal. These kids were always gonna great our fringe players.

The argument that we we've refreshed the list instead of rebuilding it I have no problem with.

To say that an existing team is undergoing a build but not a rebuild defies logic in a way that would do George W. Bush proud.

It's all semantics and I see the merit in many of the assertions put forward in these posts. I fall into the camp that believe the age distribution of our list and particularly of our most talented, crucial players is more skewed than it should be. Additionally, we don't have a good spread of players who have 3-4 seasons playing together under their belt.

However our list has its strengths, and could go far if many list variables go our way, mainly aging players maintaining (or finding) fitness and form and young talent having immediate impact and being well managed throughout the season.

I'm the opposite. The club being absolutely dogshit for 90% of my life does that to you though :(
Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
